Out of complete curiousity, what kind of problems did the cards sent to you have?

Ditto. My card has been working great since I purchased it. Also have a 1221 (original unlocked 64mb at 30+mhz and around 5mips) hooked to her and am pretty happy with the performance all told.

No real reason for me to go for the ACA500+, but glad it's finally available.

Am using my ACA500 with an original Phoenix mobo in my A1000 w/ 1mb Chip RAM. If the new model provided 2mb of Chip without me dinking around with a new Agnus and memory chips, would have purchased for sure. (I know it's not possible, just saying)

(already have the correct Agnus and RAM now, just can't be bothered to install yet)

In both cases the owners put them on up side down. It fried a few of the chips. One was saved the other still no luck in getting it to boot. That one was put on an A1000 the wrong way, maybe its a worse situation on them?

Well this is good..  Now I can use my flicker fixer and not worry about it hitting the kipper2k board (which will be removed since I never soldered it in).    Time to dust off that A500.  :-)

Can you run the ACA500+ at 7mhz instead?  Dunno if some games will not like the 14mhz.

With all these expansions, certain software may be incompatible. However, this is not a reason to unplug the ACA500plus, as it features an advanced cloaking mode that lets you downgrade the computer to standard memory configurations with minimal expansions (like Action Replay) or even no expansions at all, your choice of Kickstart ROM, running at the original 7MHz speed. Even if your computer does not have an internal 512k trapdoor memory expansion, the ACA500plus can not only add this, but even emulate the cycle-exact speed of the internal expansion with the same slow-down effects that an internal memory expansion has. In other words: There is no reason to unplug the ACA500plus at any time.

Got mine on order as well.  I haven't been using my 500 lately because of the lack of an easy way to transfer files to it from my PC or Mac, but, this will bring the functionality of the 1200's PCMCIA port with a CF reader to the 500.  That, and there's a planned upgrade for a USB and network port on the ACA.

Well if only I READ it.  Thanks!  Now there's no reason not to buy.

That's amazing that you can pre-order it now. Heard that there will be cases made for this hardware piece as well. When do you think they will be out? Thanks. Happy Christmas everyone! :):p:p

We are talking about the physical cases for the accelerators that might be released soon. I remember the original ACA500 Plexiglas Case used to be for sale on the amiga-shop website but are now out of stock. Hopefully they will get the new ACA500 Plus Cases soon.

I've only seen them listed on iComp.  The way I understand things, and I might be wrong, is that he is only producing the number of boards that are pre-ordered.  So, who knows, this might be a direct order only kind of product, with no resellers getting stock.  The pre-order has been updated now with a statement that demand is far greater than expected, and, that shipment of the product will be delayed until January, instead of sometime this week or next, as initially intended.

kirk_m, I am not talking about boards. I am talking about the Cases for the boards. Just read on a german commodore forum that there is a clear plexiglas case planned for release soon but not exactly sure when. CASES you understand not BOARDS, CASES CASES CASES is the subject of discusssion here!!! ;);):insane::)

Then you probably know more than the rest of us here.

Agree it would be nice to have professional cases made for these and other bare-neked boards. Be even better if they were included at the time of sale.   :)
