what happens to the money if it does not make the goal?  Is it refunded to the people who paid?

Kickstarter doesn't take the money unless the goal is met.

Actually kickstart is partially right.  The only reason I also have heard of you is from some argument you had when you wanted volunteers to help you make a game/company or whatever it was.  It was handled unprofessionally.

I think you should make the game anyway but definitely make changes to have the characters run/move more fluid.  Make the background move like in Shadow Of The Beast or some other changes.   Once you have a game you release that looks great, you'll have a better reputation as a game maker.

Good luck!

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, I just want to point out how absurd that is.  SOTB was written in hardware-banging assembly at the height of the Amiga's popularity.  No one left here, or very few people, have the time, desire, or coding skill, to write such a game anymore.  Sorry folks, that ship has sailed.

Now I don't know anything about the guy writing this other game (or his "reputation"), but he's pretty clearly stated that it's being written in AMOS.  So to ask for them to "Oh, just make it like SOTB"... yeah, sure.  Wishful thinking, and all that.  Why don't you just say "Hey, go learn some long dead programming language for a computer hardly anyone codes for anymore, to make a game that - at best - you have the possibility of making a couple thousand bucks off of, while all the while being flamed in public forums...  AAAHHH!

Anyhow, I backed it, because I'm at a point in my life when I make pretty decent money, and want to support continued Amiga software development.  I pirated the sh** out of games 20-something years ago when I was a broke teenager.  Now that I'm an adult I try to do the right thing, and support continued Amiga software development where I can.  It's your choice what you want to do.  Cheers!  :)

If you want to wear the minimum pieces of flair, then that's your prerogative.  Lmao. Strive to be the best..if the minimum is the best, then so be it.

A simple dual playfield infinite scroll and some bobs and sprites. Hardly rocket science. I wouldn't be surprised if Amos can handle that. Looks far more impressive than it is.
