Yes, Life After Humans is a pretty good show... it does remind you of it... but not that bad yet.

Not to hijaak the thread, but KatManDEW, I can totally relate to your 'bad model airplane habit' ... LOL... I just set out about 20 kits that I intend to sell, since there is just no way I can build them all.... That leaves only about 175 kits left to build.....

Just a thought here. Other than stamping out the amiga chipset did mos tech do anything at all after 1985? If they had any sense they would have cloned the 68k...

Hopefully there's still some 4000s in stock by the time I have anough to buy one.

d'Amiga was a semi-official development system for the Tao/Intent Amiga Anywhere SDK. There's probably a press release about it if you dig through the Wayback Machine's archives of Amiga.com. As you'll see from the specs, it's just a standard PC with some software pre-installed. I remember the price being pretty fair for the time.

It's a sickness ;-) Anyone who thinks they're Amiga obsession is warped, perverse, or silly, can take comfort in the fact that there are worse addictions ;-)

If you have the money to throw away, why not?  Why not buy a brand spankin new A4kT... There are far more expensive hobbies than that...  The url didnt work for me but whatever the price of that A4kT is, it wouldnt pay for a cam install in my Vette.. LOL.  So, go enjoy spending $ on an A4kT if you choose.. eventually you're not going to be able to buy them brand new.

DIY work on cars can end up costing more than having it done professionally, not only in specialized tools but then there's always the possibility of "I screwed up and now my engine digested itself."  There's alot to be said for work that comes with a warranty.

Insane prices ?? Well maybe if you calculate that in monopoly-money, but once you transfer it to a realy currency it's not that far of from what you pay stuff on fleaBay.

And these have been used and abused for 15 years allready....

On a1k.org there is actually another guy who ordered an 4000T, taxes, customs and postage was a killer, otherwise I might be tempted.

Yes indeed. I also do car modifications and repair with my two sons. Just last year I paid 7600.00 for a snap on Modis scanner/scope for the newer cars, and especially BMW as that is what I mostly work on in my spare time.

How can fixing your car yourself possibly cost more? Specialised tools? A spanner set, a screwdriver, and a ratchet you mean? And there's generally very little to screw up, put it back the same way to took it apart.

I really don't get the viewpoint. It's literally mechano for adults.
