I understand the frustration of people who ordered big buck items and had to wait;especially if they paid on order.
Joe has been quick to reply to email inquiry and quick to ship  items he has in stock.Received my order(NOT FOR ONE OF THE BOARDS) in only a couple days.
While other vendors may have better service day-to-day remember other vendors did not take the risk of arranging for new production of these boards.Joe could have found himself  with expensive inventory of dust collectors.

Good news!  I cannot wait to set my A1200 up with this card and scsi module.  :)

Agree completely. Joe should have sent a few more e-mails and should definitely simplify his Web site to the point where it can be kept current with limited time and manpower resources. We all should also see patience is in order for these limited runs of old product. I got my 4060 board later than promised, but not really later than expected. I'm still waiting on my GVP graphics cards, and I trust completely it will arrive in due course.

So, who wants to volunteer to help Joe clean up the Softhut website?
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

First off,  anyone who ordered 'new' GVP items, keep us informed of the status, and when they arrive, etc...
It can't be easy getting another production run of 'obsolete' hardware going....

In another thread, some people spoke harshly about softhut, perhaps rightly so..... But IME, Joe always E-Mailed me back usually within a week to tell me the status of an item, order, etc....

And to be frank, a website that is never updated, 'phantom inventory', etc. is not exactly rare on the Internet.... A certain company that shall remain nameless, advertised a 1/72 scale Russian jet model for sale.... I ordered one and waited, and waited... After 3 weeks, they finally sent an E-Mail saying it wasn't yet available, and THEN refunded the charge to my credit card ... :bitch:  (BTW, I ended up ordering the kit from Squadron.com,  they said right away that the kit was back-ordered, but I still got it after 3 days..  Cooool...)

My rambling 2 cents....

I remember the days of the early amiga we sent money to companies that had not even "built"  the product yet.  cut them a break or become an atari user  :D

@DamageX
This is a Typhoon by DCE 1999, not a new production model - "raises an eyebrow"...???
To me : no photos of products (if you did production run, you'd have a sample) no money.

It could be an old picture, or the "new" cards could have been assembled from old PC boards produced by DCE in 1999.

Yes I see that it matches the pic of the DCE board on Big Book of Amiga Hardware. Although it appears that there extraneous pieces at the edges of the board that need to be snapped off before it will actually fit (?) Curiously, someone also attempted to hide the 882 speed rating as printed on the chip, and there is a warranty sticker covering the CPU. I don't know if this is normal for DCE boards. In any case, I'm glad to have received something, new or old as it may be, considering that I was charged for it well over a month ago.

I bet the '030 is a 33MHz rated part clocked at 40MHz... no biggie, and pretty common in the day.

Yep, Got mine yesterday! It works great. It appears that they just used leftover new stock DCE Typhoon boards. I love the "Warranty" sticker over the simm and cpu FPU. :)

It seems a little quicker then my old 28 mhz cobra board. I dont see where you would add the scsi module?

I believe there are two versions of this card one with the scsi connection and the other without.  I suspect that you ordered the not-scsi model.

I think that's going to make a lot of people unhappy. Joe had the SCSI bit listed as an add-on, and I bet a lot of people were thinking they could add SCSI later. He should have sold them as "Typhoon" and "Typhoon with SCSI" with the price reflecting the difference in configuration.
