Have you got a PPC?
« on: November 30, 2007, 08:35:38 PM »
With the release of OS4 I'm interested to know how many PPC's are out there.

Do you have a Blizzard or a Cyberstorm? What have you enjoyed using it for so far?

Yeah, I've got 2 BlizzardPPCs.. one of them is dead, keeping it for spare parts. I have got an A4000 too with CyberstormPPC. I've enjoyed both machines a LOT! What I've enjoyed the most of the PPC in particular is datatypes, picture manipulation, mp3 players and emulators, etc.

Waiting for OS 4!

Cheers

Around here (Canada) PPCs and 060s are as rare as hen's teeth, so I'm always amazed when you Europeans say you have 2 or 3 of them.

I just have an 040 (which has served me very well).

I was thinking, there are probably only about 2500 working PPC boards still around in the world, and less in use.  This is just a guess, of course.

So that really caps the number of OS4.0 copies that will be sold - unless a new board is released.

Unfortunately not. When they were available, I could not afford them at the time. Now I could but they are not available  :getmad: (not counting second hands, overpriced, possibly not working ones on ebay and such).

I've got a 603e 240Mhz and a Bvision in my A1200... but I very much doubt It will ever run OS4... I simply don't want to waste money on a useless piece of software.

I also have a Power G4 1.5Ghz but that will be running Leopard next month :-)
