For me it has to be the 1200,several reason I once had a 600, Ok for games but that was it, but the 1200 I since have got a Mediator SX and that opens up my world.  I have done far more with my 1200 than I ever could with a 600.

My favourite is the A1XE G4. Fastest Amiga ever built,

At the risk of starting a flame war, that's not an amiga in the strict sense any more than the Pegasos 2 is, nor any more than an Amithlon box, for that matter. All three run OS-friendly classic 68K software and all three can make use of machine native code for various time consuming OS calls.

Which is the fastest then?

You're right, this depends on what anyone considers as Amiga in the strict sense.

Mine!

It's in a home made full AT tower and it ain't gonna fall to bits (I can stand on the case!).

A3000+ is the Amiga I would have now, if only they made 'em insted of the 4000.  Not saying the 4000 is bad, just things could have been soooo much better.

Had 3 1200s sold them when upgraded to the 3000.

My favourite has to be the A3000.  Definitely the Mercedes of Amigas.  Sure it was cramped inside, but it was so freaking awesome.  If only they had made the A3000+ as the next A4000 (if you see what I mean)

I'd love to get my hands on one.

The best would have to be the A500, the only machine to really deliver amazing performance for a low price (The A1200 was behind the curve when it hit).  For many people this was *the* Amiga.

Also another vote here for the A2000 being the biggest ugliest monstrosity of the Amiga Line.

Well since I have all models I have to say the 1200t is the most capable and efficient, but I use the 3000t's most. I Also really like the 3000D and if it had a place to mount a cdrom, that would probably be my favorite. It is the perfect size and shape.

This could also say as much about the other Amiga's as it does about the A1200 and A4000. Aren't all Amiga's except the A1000 more evolutionary than revolutionary?

But let's not hijack the thread. A1200 thumbs up :-)

Me votes for the A1200/060/AGA i somehow like it. But they should have put Akiko and some spare room for a Slim-CDDrive into it. Yes the CDRom can be hacked into it, but i'm lazy if it comes to case modding.

The one I wanted the most was the A1200. The one that was the most productive and most used was the A4000T.
But the one I was in awe of, was my first Amiga, an A500.
It's a bit like girlfriends, you never forget your first  ;-)

The best is the A4000T.
The 'favourite' is the A1200.

For me it would be the 1200 I guess, followed by the 4000D.  I still like the (relatively) small footprint of the 4000 case compared to the average PC case.

Having said that, I am still in awe of the A1000.  I remember seeing it on "Making the Most of the Micro" on BBC 2 back in the 80's and thinking "Want one!  Want One!!!".  I like the keyboard garage and it had add-ons like the Sidecar and second floppy drive - Two floppy drives was still a big wow to me then!  It just oozed of magical delights :-)  I never got one and had to make do with my C64 and 1541.  Ahh, those were the days...

I like the A1200 desktop for it's features and simple expandability.

I love the A2000 (my first machine) because the casing is well designed so that you can pack everything you need inside it (Unlike the bloody cramped A3000D).

Currently I've shelved all of my Amigas except for the A2000.  This year I've been souping it up with new kickstart ROMS, an accelerator/RAM card, CV3D graphics card and OS3.9.  OH, and I did the NTSC to PAL hack on the mobo last month too.

Whoever designed that A3000D case needs to be shot.
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

A2000 is my favorite model for two reasons:

1.  First Amiga that I owned (purchased 1 week after they were released here in Australia!)
2.  Big-box form factor, built like a tank and also easily expandable.  It isn't the most aesthetically pleasing Amiga to look at, but you can't have everything.

Cheers,

Silversurfer.

My favorite is the 1200 endless fun for my hacking needs ,,,

nr2 is the A4000*T as it not only looks great but also feels the more modern , as for the 3k i think it looks like a piece of crap and it is so narrow inside only good thing it has is the scandoubbler . needs to much fixing in order to upgrade too... My best buy is still my amiga 1200 though but i give the A4000T the cool factor .

Cant say anything about the 2000 or 1000. never had those

My first was the A500.. so naturally I love it.

My dream was the A4000 desktop..back then it was expensive and I was just a kid and couldnt afford it.  After getting a good job I now have quite a few Amigas.  All but 3 are in storage.
