"The Best"

A1200 for me, followed by the A3000.

"Favorite"

Varies from year to year... :-) Right now my A500 project. From a technical perspective it's not the coolest amiga, but I'm having fun. I'll have a few pics in the photo gallery once I get the case for the GVP A530 repainted. I'm surprised at how much faster/more responsive the SCSI controller is over the A1200 IDE (suXXorz).

Next project will be an A3000, if I ever get the time. :-(

"Worst/least favorite"

The A2000 is the WORST amiga ever, I dunno why any sane person would like that model :-? We had one at our high school, every time I walked by it I thought "what a piece of crap, why don't they buy a real computer"

The A3000 of course
It was probably the high water mark and most complete and professional of the amiga line.

The A1200, and A4000 although cool were really cost reduced versions of what most people would have considered a professional computer at the time of there release.

Actually I never had an AGA amiga until WinUAE.

My favorite was an A3000/060/PIV I owned for several years.  I broke it up and sold it in a fit of stupidity (I wanted a computer that would work with my WinCE PDA).

My second favorite would be the A1000 bought used in 1990.  Still runs perfectly!

After realizing what I had done with the A3000, I bought a slightly dodgy (bad sound) A4000 on ebay.  I've added a Prometheus card for networking and Voodoo graphics.  Wish I could afford accelerator and PIV cards, but I can't swing the prices they bring on ebay :^(

Up until a while ago I would have said the A1200 because it is so much fun to upgrade. You also have the option of cramming as much as you can in the desktop case, or putting it in a tower and going crazy with mods and upgrades. Now I would have a hard time choosing between the A1200 and the A4000D. I love the way everything fits in the A4000D case, and using Zorro cards is much more satisfying than using PCI cards through a Mediator. For me, the A4000D feels more like an Amiga than an A1200 with PCI cards.

My favorite model would be the A1200 coz i upgraded it so much and it works, it's like a big lego box.
Second to that would be the A4000 due to the fact it can handle a CSPPC and has AGA ofcourse :-D

Of all the Amigas I owned I think my favourite would be the A500, simply because it was my first ever Amiga, and it gives me the true 'old school' Amiga feeling.

Runner-up is my A4000/040. It is the dream machine I could never afford back then, but I have bought it last year for very little money. It's nicely expanded now and can do more than I ever dreamed of 10 years ago.

Third comes the A3000. It's not as fun as the A500, not as 'killer' as the A4000, but in my opinion it's the most beautiful Amiga ever made. I still regret the day I gave my A3000 away for practically nothing (I'll buy myself one again someday).

Hummm... I don't know why you guys like the A1200 so much because I have one and I can't do anything with it.

To me, the 1200 is not worth much unless it gets towerized and that's a lot of trouble. And even then, you have to add a large bunch of add-ons before you truly have a versatile machine.

To me, the best Amiga ever is the 4000T. It comes with everything. Zorro III slots, SCSI, a really good CPU slot, AGA and a big power supply. Unfortunately, I don't have one.

So the next best thing is the A3000(T). It has pretty much everything the 4000T has except for AGA. And unlike the 4000D, the 3000D has SCSI in it.

I can see your point about the A1200 eslapion, but it really depends what you want to do with it. If you just want a floppy games machine then a vanilla A1200 will do nicely. If you want a small WHDLoad box then a desktop A1200 with a HDD and an 030 will be great. If you want to add Internet connectivity then the PCMCIA port can be used with a cheap network card. If you want a powerhouse then you can do this too.

The A4000 is not really that different to the A1200. The only thing you get with an A4000 that you don't with an A1200 is a big case and Zorro slots.

Of course if Doomy had been allowed back, then he would tell us the both the A1200 and the A4000 are "pieces of {bleep}", and that this has been confirmed by Dave Haynie

My favourite is the A1XE G4. Fastest Amiga ever built, no more stacks of hardware plugged one into another, and shipped with the best release of AmigaOS ever made. Better expandability than the Micros and with the CPU on a card unlike the SEs.

Worst Amiga? Hmm, I guess it would be the A500+.

At the risk of starting a flame war, that's not an amiga in the strict sense any more than the Pegasos 2 is, nor any more than an Amithlon box, for that matter. All three run OS-friendly classic 68K software and all three can make use of machine native code for various time consuming OS calls.

Which is the fastest then?
