I am on the side of whever releases a new amiga computer that runs OS 4! ;)

Keep in mind that if Amiga, Inc. wins this case and somehow deliver, you definitly won't see any OS4.1 or beyond. Who will write it? Amiga India?

exactly..

Hyperion made the effort from the start to deliver OS4

not the gay boys from amiga inc.

Thats why im on hyperions side. I hope they win the case.
not that it makes a difference. it's just theme.

This is a joke right?

Whoever has the source code will be able to update it.
Courts will decide.
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

Able ? Yes
Willing to do so ? No (in the case of AInc.)
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

...and in the face of adversity, it seems that Hyperion are the ONLY company to follow through with a product. OS4.

Come on Amiga Inc.  Let the OS4 rights remain with Hyperion.  You sell your new hardware, Hyperion sell OS4, is this such a bad thing.  Amiga Inc' greed is the problem here IMO.

look at it this way:
Amiga Inc win, we get OS4 on this ere thing wot ACK are developing.
Hyperion win, we get OS4 on the SAM440Ep.
Personally, I already got OS4 on A1XE from Eyetech, but nothing lasts forever, and I dont want to have to use anything else for my main computing [d]needs[/d] #ahem# fix!

And 1.x, 2.x, 3.0-3.1, 3.5, and 3.9 are what then?  3.5 and 3.9 where out sourced, just like OS4.

They never had rights, they had a license, which has been officially revoked by Amiga Inc.  I'm certainly not a fan of AI, but I have to agree with them on this one.

So in a few years, when all this is settled, then we might be able to buy AOS4.0 on "modern" HW??

These things in court have a tendency to drag on and on and on..

So maybe we can actually get a new os in say 2008.. But before X-mas..

@ Dammy

1.x, 2.x, 3.x certainly were not the brainchild of Amiga Inc.    3.9 was a different story but Hyperion have come through with a product - I suppose we should meet in the middle though - McEwen and his cronies did give us DE didn't they!

Rights, Licence who cares.  Hyperion brought OS4 to PPC.  If it was as clear cut as you are suggesting then there would be no lawsuit.

I refer you back to comments on my original post.....

"Hyperion are the ONLY company to follow through with a product. OS4."

Lets just all pray ..that..whatever resolution or side wins..they deliver an
AMIGA product/s.

I think if new hardware/sofware..was released people would def. buy it..Us hardcore users + new comers..as well..

Long Live AMIGA!!
