Hyperion's response to lawsuit
« on: May 02, 2007, 12:05:18 AM »
reported on Moob

I like this part..

Quote
Hyperion is entitled to all revenues stemming from distribution of Amiga OS 4.0 irrespective of the execution of the “buy in” clause which relates solely to subsequent versions (Amiga OS 4.1 and beyond).

I was directly called a liar by a certain Hyperion employee ~2.5 years ago when i said this exact statement. I was simply quoting Hare from his Q&A, and was called a liar and essentially a Genesi lapdog. People can easily find quotes by Hyperion stating they have full rights to develop OS4.X. The truth comes out in the wash eventually, and sadly i am still here to say naaaah I was right :getmad:

I'm on the side of the one that can actually deliver the Amiga hardware and OS that I can use!
Amiga - The fun computer!

Amiga 500 - 3MB, A590, 250MB HD, SupraTurbo28.
Amiga 1200HD - 32MB, 4GB CF-Card, GVP 68030-40Mhz.
Amiga 600HD

Thanks;-) I really don't want to gloat, but some statements boil your blood and makes it hard to forget.

I really wish I still had my Commodore goodies, but I sold it all earlier this year when we hit some hard times. I do not own a single C= or Amiga item any longer :boohoo: Things are looking up and when I finish moving back to FL, hopefully I can get back into C= 8bit.

Good for you.  And good for all the people on AInc.'s side, because neither matters.  What matters is the court's decision, and you're all wasting your time arguing about it.

Some day, hopefully sooner than later, I will be able to buy a $500 box with an Amiga name on it which runs AmigaOS 4, figure out I can't use it for anything important, and let it sit on my shelf collecting dust next to my A3000.  I'll still be a proud Amigan while I make money mixing live Hi-Res 32-track recordings on the Windows PC that I built from parts for about the same amount of money.

The time for Amiga to return to the P(ersonal) C(omputer) market was gone about 12 years ago, when people started using Windows 95 and getting on the internet en masse.  I still plan to follow my hobby computer of choice, but while realizing that nobody I ever meet in the real world will say "WOW!" about it.

Something tells me that about two years from now when all this crap shakes out, amiga will change hands again because they went broke making $500 computers that are worth about $50 and nobody (save a few die-hard fanatics) wanted.
A3000D 030/30  8MB fast, 500MB SCSI, HD floppy.  Sits in a box.
Waiting patiently for my FPGA Replay.

I appreciate the offer:-) I'm in temporary living quarters right now and things are still a bit hectic, I wouldn't be in a position to use anything right now. It will probably be a few months before I can consider making the dive again.

Keep in mind that if Amiga, Inc. wins this case and somehow deliver, you definitly won't see any OS4.1 or beyond. Who will write it? Amiga India?
