Did you redeem the coupon, and is it transferrable?

(strange, my second post disappeared!)

I'm serious, is the coupon transferrable? How would one go about getting the OS when the time comes... is the "OS Pending shipment" registry transferrable?

Maybe I should put it to the "Ask Fleecy!" list.

hello after much thought i have decided that the amigaone is not for me.
:-? Are you a Club Amiga member?

;-) If so, take a look at Amiga's Club Newletter.  Especially page six.

:-D If not, I'll make an offer....

ok it seems i have made a big mistake. £160. give me a break. it has cost me well over £800 i have never used it, it is 4 months old. half price would be a complete rip. i'm not asking for full price but something half decent - somewhere around £700 would be sensible, as the whole thing has probably cost me £900 - thats £200 lost. you work it out

It is second hand, plain and simple.

£700 is way OTT for seconds.

Is it an XE? I'll give you $299USD. If it's an SE, I'm not interested.

Selling such a machine 2nd hand will be too expensive for most people. I suggest you keep it for a while until OS 4 comes out and then judge for yourself what you want to do with it.
You can also put it on Ebay with a minimum selling price of 650 euro ...

I don't know anyone who ever got a good deal selling a used computer.  Sorry, but that's the way the market works.  Hell, I usually just give my stuff away to family members or something.  It's not even worth the time to sell it.

The AmigaOne is a hobby machine, anyway.  I'd definately keep it, if only as a collector's item.

@Staticman,

Don't blame the community for your impulse purchase.

In case you haven't noticed, most people here (or on other sites) are in "wait and see (+bitching) mode" or have bought a Pegasos + Mos by now..

And like some said before, the minute you buy/unpack any product it, be it a computer, a telephone a bike, it's second hand and looses 50% or more in value..

If you really want to sell your A-one wait untill OS4 is released (Or who nows ? Mos for A-one), as of now, the A-one is only for hardcore believers or linux users (And those allready preordered). When OS4 is released you may get a better bargain. (And indeed, when OS4 is out, put it on Ebay, let people bid on it)
~
Everything you say will be misquoted and used against you.

@Staticman

It's an AOne-SE, is it not? Most of the people interested either
already have one or has ordered an AOne-XE. Wait a little until
systems are being used more widely before selling. Then you
might get a decent prize. You cannot expect a second-hand
market to emerge before the system is actually fully released...
Traditionally the Amiga second-hand value has been rather
good. Time will tell.
