No we don't.

For all we know, Ray Akey simply sent a quick note to eBay claiming to represent Amiga Inc's interest.  It does not in any way, shape, or form indicate any sort of life signs in the stillborn Amiga Inc.

Wayne

Ray, Vincent, Randall, Greg, or the guy in a new york office whose name sounds like polish?

By the way, has amiga.com domain info changed recently?

That's just insane.  If this was given out to members of the public (St Louis, or wherever) then it is in the public domain.  They have no legal ownership of it as an item at all, it belongs to the person who it was given to.

It was a press kit for pity's sake!

I can understand them not pursuing every amiga pirated game (not their IP rights infringement), but I would think they would pursue copies of pirated OS disks just on the principle (I've seen a few 'pre-installed' hard disks going on ebay recently also).
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

Bill and/or Fleecy read Amiga.org and followed Red's link?
Shame really, cos the only things I've got to say to them wouldn't pass the A.org profanity filter :furious:
On schedule, and suing

Most likely one of the fanboys told them about the auction.  Even after all this time, Amiga Inc and Fleecy in particular (he was good at creating a higher-being-like image) still has plenty obsessed fans.

I personally think that this auction was childish in the first place, as the only intention of it was to bash Amiga INC.
I do not think it should have been removed though, as i see nothing illegal done here.

Look guys...

Not my auction, and it doesn't matter because it's a done deal anyway, but I don't really want to go heavy on beating them up again here.

Amiga Inc is a dead horse, with the obligatory :horse:

They have every right to take the action they did, though I personally think it's a bit sad and pathetic that they did so.  I can however imagine someone like Bill Buck trying to get ahold of a copy to start more pathetic drama against Amiga Inc and their guys over a product and situation that just doesn't matter any more.

I guess what I'm saying is that we've gotten a sad little laugh out of this, but let's just let it go.  There isn't any use drumming up which (Amiga Inc or Bill Buck) is the bigger scumbag here.  It's a moot point, besides, neither really has anything to do with the Amiga any more and I can't help but think that's a good thing.

You are reading WAAAAAY too much into it.  It was an auction, no different than selling a 1200.  It's only the people in threads like these that makes an auction into a full blown melodrama.

For all their failures, Commodore  would never have stooped so low. They had more style and grace.

They were also a _real_ company with better things to occupy their time ;)

I just had a thought.  What if the ONLY reason they reported the auction is to dissuade others from auctioning off all the other embarrassing items that they've done over the years?

I once had a jerk trying to steal me with shipping costs for an item I won on eBay. I ended up not paying. When I though it was all over I received a warning from eBay about a non paid item. I wrote in the open dispute that the seller was lying and even provided a link, but nothing, there wasn't even an eBay representative coming to the dispute. Then later on I received another warning that if had more of these kind of warnings or something. I could be kicked out. I got pissed and took the time to read eBay's rules on these kinds of things and what can you do, then made an appeal kind of thing (been a few moths ago, can't remember the names) provding a link to the auction and asking eBay to compare the invoice that was send to me and the auction description. It worked, my warning was taken off and didn't even receive negative feedback.

So maybe you should just fill a counter complain with proof that the auction was valid, cause it's something that was handed freely into the public domain.
It could be interesting to see the result.  8-)
Or maybe just don't bother, it's not worth the time...

Eh? :inquisitive:

Umm, no.. That would be a stupid reason to start an auction. The reason to run an auction is to make $$$ MOOLAH $$$, and this auction suceeded perfectly. If you are talking about the tiny bit of off color humor in inject, I do that to almost every auction listing, especially retro stuff. My listing have have had descriptions like "This is a big pile of useless crap, I have no idea why someone would bid on it. It will be packed in a box with no packing material and dropped repeatedly before shipping. No, really! Don't expect anything but small pieces!". I do that to lower expectations, then the buyer is happy to see it's not quite that bad;-) This one specifically? Yeah I guess you can say the humor has an element of snipe at AI, but after all these years and all their B$, I won't cry for them.

Nothing really bad said, but why spoof me? Hoping someone will troll it? :-?
