@Wayne

This bit:
Quote
I only wished he had respected his former duties and responsibilities to Amiga.org (as an admin) with as much zeal.

...can easily be read to mean "he didn't do his job as admin satisfactorily".

This:
Quote
I *do* feel that if he put as much effort into his former duties with Amiga.org as he now is with his own Web site, Amiga.org would be a better place today.

...is much more clear as to what you actually meant.

When feelings run high, every sentence invariably gets interpreted in the most negative way imaginable. People read, react and think, in precisely that order. Somethimes they even forget to do the last one...

@seer,

Outside of a twinge of "wish he would have worked with us rather than on his own project", you're absolutely right.  I have nothing whatsoever against Intuitionbase.com and wish him the best.  I'm just not sure why he (and apparently a few others) choose to take every single word that's ever said and twist it into an insult.

He was posting news too often.  Even ANN posters agree (with respect to ANN).  As such, I removed his latest post and rather than have another "Amiga.org is censoring news" thread, I had HOPED to head off the pass and explain why I deleted it.

Some people are just never happy.

I am no linguistic expert and I have very little need for political gameplay, but I suppose I could have guessed that he would react that way. Especially considering his history of emotional posting and the fact that the whole thread was about why I felt the need to delete his news item in the first place.

It's just sad that the Amiga community seems to be devolving on a maturity level sometimes.

I agree with you wayne, but maybe it would have been a better idea to private ryu with something allong the lines of "Hey nice site, but watch out you don't whore our news section with too many updates".

And ryu, don't overreact, I remember how you had a go previously about people not donating after viewing one of your photo galleries, come on what the {bleep} does the world owe you?

That said you will be missed on amiga.org
Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you!

As one of your paying customers, I applaude your judgement on this issue.  Posting to the forums is one thing, taking excessive advantage of "News" for splashing his site on your front page is quiet another.  If I can afford to pay for banner space, so can he.

@Ryu

Just one question before you go. can you please post some evidence that the video game company Capcom has allowed you to use a copyrighted picture of a character from their video games. i do not want people to think a circle with "No Piracy Campaign" is hypocritical when the picture looks like some sort of copyright infringement.

Thanks

@lorddef,

In my opinion, a PM wouldn't have cut it, because someone else would have simply started the "you censor news" thread.

I'm gonna say a few things and then, when I'm done, I'm gonna listen to what everybody else says and reply.  I will attempt to remain polite throughout.

I am a member of the IntBase team and can tell you, quite wholeheartedly, that a lot of *major changes* have occured on IntBase recently.  If you have been watching from day 1 you would know this.  http://www.intuitionbase.com

Ryu may, and I say may because I don't know, have been posting many, many news items about updates.  I feel that Wayne, you should have PM Ryu first, it is only polite.

Also, surely it doesn't matter what gets posted, we're a small communty, we need to stick together. Breaking ourselves apart like this is entirely unecessary.

Finaly:

This was an incredibly unecessary dig in my opinion.  Let's not beat each other up, we need to stick together, this is an important time.

Please can we not let this happen again?

thank god.

it's worse than a soap opera. ryu always seemed like a attention seeker and whenever was question about such matters over reacted...

lol, anyway  :-)

What a mess.......

/me runs quickly back to the sanity of the anti/pro USA bashing and other general bickering in CoffeeHouse....

Egos eh...:roll:

-edit-
Oh and about PG's post. Completely not suprised by your post. Trolling does seem to be your only goal in your existence on a.org innit?

Alright, Shows over folks. Nothing to see here. I'm locking this topic due to the unneeded bashing at Ryu and lack of any thing constructive. That's all folk, move along.

thank you GiGa for being reasonable. that is much appreciated. I do agree that as the Amiga community is small - and special - it's best to be nice to each other.

When I read Wayne's initial post i didn't see anything offensive. But, for me the bottom line is that this is Wayne's place and he has the final word on certain things.

There has been times when I have NOT posted certain comments simply out of respect to him and that idea.

I'm sorry ryu is upset over this, but I feel it's best to communicate first before one blows up.

thank you
