I found £325 to Phoenix (a bit more for LA) on ba.com from London Heathrow.  Is Phoenix nearer to Sacramento than LA?  It's still very expensive for a few days though.

Perhaps a show in Europe might be a better idea.  But... are there any big shows in Europe any more?!

Phoenix (My Home Town) is in Arizona and is 8 hours drive to LA, then another 6 to 8 depending on your driving speed to Sacramento from there. Its a long haul.

Looks interesting.... but where is MorphOS?  I've just noticed that the AmiWest announcement mentions OS4/AmigaOne but excludes MorphOS/Pegasos too.

No wonder show attendence numbers are decreasing if they are excluding over 50% of the community.  There's no reasoning involved, it's just bigotry on their parts.  :pissed:

as last year, pegasos seemed to dominate, maybe they are trying to extend a welcome to OS4/AmigaONE owners. and encourage those people to come also.

the peg owners already will be there. try not to attribute "evil" where none exists. I have been to the last 2 shows and they seems like nice, friendly people. :-D

I've told BBRV that I would be there for them and set up a table with a few Pegasos II systems and demo MOS. Not to sure of the details yet but I think we will have a real nice set of things to show if it all works out. In any case the Pegasos and MorphOS WILL be there. I'll make sure of it!  :-D

Hehe - you had to get a dig in dude..

Ive been having a look - ASCII is right its an insane distance. Prime issue is the time we have.  We'd both have to get to London first - which isnt an issue, but that adds to the time.. we'll be spending more time on planes than at the show. If I could get a week off it would be worth it.. but that isnt going to happen.

How about the Venice show instead? and they will have plenty of pegs for you to drool over :-P But of course OS 4 will be the star ;-) hehe :-P

The primary reason for that, is the club is first and foremost an 'Amiga club'. It has nothing to do with bigotry just lack of information on Pegasos and Morphos.

I did a presentation to the club last year, got strong interest.

People would have bought Pegasos systems at Amiwest 2003 but none were available. Genesi had 8(?) employees at that show...still Amiga folks did a far better presentation of the operating system than Genesi did even though they had very little to show. For what it's worth...no one could buy an A1 with AmigaOS at the show either!

I will (hopefully) present the Peg II to the club this year before Amiwest.

Acill and I will put on a good showing of Peg II and MorphOS at Amiwest this year!

Hey, what's the cheapest way to get from LA to Sac?

If there are a few of us, why not hire a minivan or two and drive? Road trip!!!!
How long does it take? Wouldn't it be like a 12 hour drive?
What about trains?
What about flights? I've got a credit with Southwest but I would rather use it for my vacation to NY instead.

Not quite.  Mapquest says it's 5h45m.  I can make it from West Covina, CA (about 15 miles east of LA) to Loomis, CA (a few miles north-east of Sac) in about 5h, assuming the central valley isn't a parking lot.

No way!!! It took me 6 hours just to get from LA to San Francisco on an empty road. AND I WAS DOING 150mph most of the time. No CHiPs to be seen. Man, when american cars hit the speed limiter they feel like they're coming apart.

Dude, how about we just just all chip in for a minivan and Gas? You really want to blow your mileage?
