Black screen also for me with Crystal Kingdom Dizzy. Maybe @SkulleateR can have a go, he seems to have more luck with whdload files in the menu.

Try Crystal Kingdom Dizzy V1.0 ... that works fine here ! If you want to use the V2.0a Slave you can do this by using the real WHDLoad (instead of JST) on AmiBench and start the game there ;)

JST (the WHDLoad replacement for the A600GS) cannot handle the new slave file (and the file structure) sadly !

Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis (adventure) - says out of memory then crashes (v2.3_0851)

Same problem, JST can't handle that ... using real WHDLoad on AmiBench (or other custom WB setup) will work ...

I hope we will get an updated JST sometime soon, else all newer WHDLoad Installs won't be usable on A600GS/A1200NG, at least not from main menu as it would be intended  :(

I've found/made a few HDFs to get around some of these problems. But yes, it would be good for some games to have the fully patched WHDLoad slave work with all the 'custom=' options available etc.

Ok, so apparently JST can handle it (tested on FS-UAE and Real A1200), so there must be an other issue regarding those error messages ! If you open AmiBench and start for example Indiana Jones you can see it opens the DATA files and just close them right away freeing the used resources and then it quits out ...

I've suspected that JST and/or Amiberry under resources the machine spec for failing whdload archives. In some cases I've got problematic ones working by inserting "_AGA_" into the filename before loading. This is apparently an Amiberry keyword to force that minimum spec.

"Is there a debug mode we can run for logs to report? I've just tried Flashback and after about 2 minutes of gameplay it just randomly went back to the A600GS main menu"

"I'm sure the solution will be to use some ADFs, but has anyone found WHD Lemmings 1 to get laggy after a while?"

On this, if you want a version without the glitchy sounds, use this 2nd disk:

https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/TheZone/files/_2022/Lemmings%20(1991)(Disk%202%20of%202%20repaired)%20[Lemmings%20disk%202%20with%20fixed%20sound%20sample%20for%20Valvestat%20and%20anyone%20else].adf

Edit: Fixed what it was I was actually talking about

I have a FlashBack HDF running fine here on the A600GS.  It worked without using JST or WHDLOAD.

Yup, just realised I quoted the wrong thing entirely and it was meant to be about Lemmings! My bad!

Incidentally, has anyone got the revamped version of Citadel that came with the A500mini working? It goes through the Amiberry setup thingy then Gurus. I don't think there's a HDF/ADF version of it anywhere.

Yes, this was a good little exercise...

1. I grabbed the "ReMonstered Edition" WHDLoad from Turran (I'm guessing that's the A500mini version?)
2. I initially set it up on the A600GS whdload menu with 2MB chip and 8MB fast memory, with Faster Chipset enabled.
3. The game booted successfully, it displays a machine spec when loading and I noted that Fast mem was recognised and the processor was identified as 68000
4. When starting the game or training however, the game display was blank
5. I tried my AGA "trick" renaming the original whdload file to include "_AGA" and created a new whdload entry in the menu (all other settings as before)
6. This time when the game started, the processor was recognised as a 68020
7. The game runs successfully and at pretty reasonable speed at maximum display with floors/ceilings enabled

I might throw together an HDF to see if it runs better with an A4000 spec ...

No problem, I wasn't aware of the game before you mentioned it. I've had fun "testing" it.  ;)
