Ok there is a possible solution to this but it involves using the 200 in 1 CD32 Games pack located on this website:L
https://unofficial-cd32-ports.blogspot.com/

I set up my A600GS using CD32 emulation to boot into this from start up as an iso file.

Yes it is not the same Amiga Game Selector found elsewhere, but it is kind of the original version and it narrows it down to 200 of the most popular games for the Amiga.  I would say that its quality over quantity with this option.

Amigaone X5000 4GB with Radeon HD 7750 and Amiga OS 4.1 FE Pre-Release

Amigaone 500 2GB with Radeon 5450 and Amiga OS 4.1 FE update 1

Amiga 1200 with ACA 1231/42 accelerator and Amiga OS3.9

Amiga CD32

Not a bad solution! Do save states work well with that?

Looks like we've got a new version. Something to test on the A600GS when there's time!

Yes, it was released on Christmas Eve. If you figure anything out, let me know. Some people have already managed to install it successfully on the 1200NG from a CF card.

I managed to get AGS 3.0 going on my A600GS by doing the following:

1. Download the AGS Classic AGA 3.0 - SCSI/Kickstart fix version (I couldn't get it working with the non-fix version)
2. Unzip the archive, rename the .img file to .hdf and copy to a USB stick
3. Boot the A600GS to the menu
4. Create a Custom Setup as A4000 (I used the KS 3.2.3 ROM), 2MB Chip + 8MB Fast memory
5. Add the AGS .hdf file on the USB to the setup - note that for me this took about 30 minutes to copy ...
6. Save

My Custom Setup stopped working after I'd tweaked the settings and resaved (KS no disk screen on startup). Deleting and reloading the hdf got it working again.

I tried these steps, but mine never boots - stops at the “insert workbench disk” animation.  Could that be a problem with my kickstart file?  I tried both 3.1 and 3.2 that I copied from my Amiga Forever installation.

I'll go back and reconfirm my setup when I'm able to. For added detail I used the A4000 v3.2.3 Kickstart from Hyperion, and my A600GS is patched to the latest firmware.

I was able to get it to work one time, randomly trying different settings.  I used CD32 and 3.1 ROM, and the rest of the settings the same as you.  First time, it didn’t work. Then, I deleted, and re-added the hard disk file, and it booted right up to the main AGS menu.  I saved a game state at the main menu.  Tried a few games, worked perfectly.  But then I tried the c64 emulator, and it locked up.  I had to force restart it, the after that, every time, it comes to the “ insert workbench disk “ animation screen.  The save state also didn’t work, it would just kick back out tot the main a600gs menu.  So frustrating that it just happened to work that one time!  I’ll try tweaking settings some more and see if anything clicks.

Coming back to my own settings:

- Standard A4000 machine spec, all on Automatic other than noted below
- ROM A4000 KS 3.2.3 (47.115)
- CPU speed set to 25Mhz (I found having this set to "Maximum" negatively impacted game/demo performance, despite being quicker to boot)
- Networking disabled
- JIT disabled
- Zorro 3 memory enabled with 1GB restricted option
- No "storage" options other than the AGS hdf added

Save states do seem to be problematic, I tested myself and saw the same fall back to the A600GS menu.

Also reconfirmed that altering options around the machine spec causes the hdf boot to fail, requiring it to be removed and re-added. I think this issue may have been raised somewhere before in relation to RDB hdf files
