I watch your work with this excellent converter. I would like to ask about Cinema 4D on Amiga. We currently have v4.x available, but it seems your application supports v5 XL. Do you know if these are compatible?

Also, I saw that your app can convert to STL, which means that could help someone who designs something on LightWave or any other 3D application on Amiga that is supported, to 3D print their creations? Is that true? Is this tested?

They use different file formats. I have the file format descriptions of the v4.x and v5.x formats, but unfortunately I don't have v4.x sample files.
I think I can create a new v4.x .c4d loader module based on my v5.x module.

That is true, it is fully tested.

The Stereolithography .stl export module is the one of the most frequently used ones in my program based on the user feedbacks.

If you send me some sample files, I will convert these files to .stl format and I will send the converted files back to you to test the result.

Thank you so much for your reply.
About sample files you can check the ISO at https://archive.org/details/cinema_202201, which includes the latest version of the app for Amiga, and was released back in the day as part of Amiga Plus magazine.

I was hoping for a saver to this format as well, because that would open a window to bring objects from other applications to Cinema4D as well. If that is possible of course. I am not pushing for it.

thank you for all your work you are doing to support Amiga.

I've installed latest 3D Object Converter v1.10 on my AmigaOne A1222+, and it still works well.  In fact, rotation speed may be a little faster.  :)  This is with MUI which was updated on my machine back in October, 2024.  So, here is the current info on MUI --

Amiga OS Release 4.1 – Final Edition A1222
c. 1985-2023
v54.15

MUI 5
Build AmigaOS4, PPC
GCC 5.4.0
v21.227 (git 6e87)
Date: 31.08.2021

Did you use the Help/Check for updates function... to get the latest version?

The user experience is the same on the AmigaOS / macOS / Linux / Windows.  :)

I tried updating with the /help/update item and it updated with no problems; however,  when it tried to start the newer version I got a DSI error 80000003 which couldn't be ignored.  I was able to kill that program and it worked fine when I started it again from AmiDock.

Are you running it on Nintendo DS really?

Can you tell me your AmigaOS / MUI version?

Which Amiga emulator are you using on it?

@KZ_3D,

just tested the application but it does not seem to run on my (emulated) system.

First, it tries to open a very big window, if this fails, the app just freezes in the background.
It also does not registering itself properly as a MUI commodity, with its own ID and it also does not react to any commands.

in general, it does not act gently when something fails.

please see attached screenshot.

Edit: same for a 32bit higher res workbench.
