JST can't seem to find the kickstart roms.

What if you run an A500 .adf, does it use correct Kickstart then?
Just to see if that sees rom.

Actually, that error is a bit confusing. Is it the RTB or the ROM missing?

What name does your A500 ROM have?

I'm assuming you have installed one, if it's name is different try installing a copy with exactly the right name, "kick34005.A500" you would need to rename the file before importing. This shouldn't actually make a difference as  the files are detected via checksum and the links are created at runtime, but it's worth a shot.

But it bangs on about RTB file not ROM itself, which is confusing.

Yea that rom file is named the same as it shows on the error.

Now thats confusing things.

Its complaining about RTB file. If you have named the ROM same as RTB file, it would be cause issues.
Just name kickstart A500 ROM as kick13.rom and import to GS, then do same for A1200 ROM as kick31.rom.

If you have overritten the RTB file, then that will be even more problematic.
You would need to replace the original RTB file.
