Was that the one with Wayne's avatar's head on a naked body?

the one i remember seeing was a gaping sphincter with some homophobic words aimed at wayne.

Might be mis-remembering though

This thread reminded me that it was about time I pulled it out, and tested to see if it was still working.... .....

It's getting old like everything else and has been sadly unused for 3 years........

I'm talking about my A2000, it's been in storage safely packed on shelving in the garage.

Pulled it out, plugged it in, turned it on, and :...... Whammo! Success.  Left it running for 3 hours plugged into the outside stereo playing mods thru eagle.  Memories.....

Turned her off, opened her up, checked everything, and then put her back away again in her bubble wrap cocoon.
One day I'll have a setup in the study that allows all my Amiga's to roam free in their natural habitat.

Couple 'o photos of the old girl attached.

Gonna have to pull out my collection and test... bought a G4 Mac mini & MorphOS a while back, planning on leaving room for that and a CD32 when I redo the living room...

Only thing computer related (apart from maintaining family machines) I' ve done for ages is writing a staff helper bot for an IRC support channel (python script running on HexChat)

Oh and I modded a AmIRC now playing arexx script for myself to support Jukebox better.
Amigadude AKA JohnN

Apple is like God.... I  don't mind either, it's just their fan clubs that put me off

In order use preference:
A1200, Z4 tower, Buffered IDE, DVDRW, PiStorm32 Lite, RPi3B+ &  WiFi
RPi400 running PiMiga4.0
CD32, TF328 & 8GB CF
A mac mini running MorphOS
A1200,  TF1260 (NoFPU) & ne2000 networking
A500
A600
2xCD32
A1200 mobo (Dead, black screen)

Well for what its worth I run a lot of pen and player role-playing games all the time. If anybody is local to the California Bay Area and wants to talk Amigas and RPGs, I'll be in heaven.

Funny you say that, I bet if I relocated to my job to work at the Sunnyvale offices, I could potentially get a quicker RPG group together.

Unfortunately I live in Utah where if you aren't married and have 8 children by the time you're my age, you're clearly gay, or evil or otherwise not worthy to hang out with.

Granted, probably why I stick to playing around with computers (just recently got two Atari Lynx's and LynxSD cards, woo hoo!).  But really want to get back tot playing GURPS, since I bought a whole ton of 4th Edition books after someone I knew wanted to play and voted we go with 4th rather than the plethora of 3rd edition stuff that I already had.  And I've played 4th Edition GURPS exactly 4 times since then...

GURPS/Amiga group?  Maybe through Tabletop Simulator?

Sorry, going way off topic.. or are we..

Hi guys,

A long-time friend from the site reminded me that it's now been several years since I sold Amiga.org to BillP, and subsequently having seen it go to Trevor.

I'm just curious as to how everyone's doing these days?  Looks like a LOT less drama and in-fighting, which is what kinda wore me down when I was here.

You guys still enjoying the Amiga?

Wayne

Hi Wayne. It has been a while!

I don't use the miggy anymore. I do follow things from time to time and check in... it was such a remarkable machine and community that a part of me will always be interested in the goings on.  I actually had a cold one or three with Gaz in Taipei a month or so back... that was really cool, talking about the old days.

I do miss my old A3k and A4k systems... the built-to-the-hilt PPC/060 A4000 was a nice machine in 2001.

I would strongly consider picking up a vampire 2 and making a usable system to tinker with if there was a modern browser... I would kill to be able to watch Youtube on an Amiga as that is half (or more) of what I use a computer for these days. I think the Vampire probably has the horses to do it but alas, there is no way to... so I stick with my gaming laptop and my media center PC. I also have a chromebook that I use to keep papers from blowing away.

Glad you are well.

Since I joined the Apollo team I demoed a Vampire 500 at Amiwest last year.  I am coding in Hollywood 6.1 making a code editor for all the platforms it supports.  It's a pity that I had to send Kipper his V500 card back.

If working at an IT company makes you feel like leaving Amigas alone I don't feel bad about being a janitor so much.

Nah, for that you use roll20.net - virtual map, virtual dice, built in video and voice conference, support modules for most popular RPGs from all eras, counters/"miniatures"...or use Tabletop Simulator, an app you can get on Steam.

Hey if an A2000 was gifted to me, I'd definitely treat her right.  Vampire, HD, video card, the works :)

Gimme admin rights, let me set up some D&D stuff on it ;)
If you're serious, I'll see about hooking up my spare copy of Xenforo to it next week when I get back.  Anyone else "game"?

Still using my A1200 classic.
Mostly for games and / or educate that 18yo son of mine about the good old days.
Also some demo running, usually late at night when nostalgy is taking me.
