No tools..not even workbench.  LOL.  Once I get my CF drive in, I'll get it configured and then I'll update this thread.

Hummm, yes, Workbench might help.  ;)

On your monitor that does work, what firmware version does it say is loaded when you power the system on?

Lame!  You'd think after all this time they'd start putting them out with 1.10 already, which you need to run 800x600 mode.

I used Mfilos's guide back when I upgraded mine, but it looks like Epsilon has a guide, as well.  Read these three pages (or at least the first two):

http://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2012-02-00009-EN.html

http://www.mfilos.com/2012/01/a600-trying-800x600-resolution-setting.html

http://amigax1000.blogspot.com/2014/06/amiga-600-cf-amigaos-setup-part-2.html

Not something you need to do right away, but it will add features to your Indi once you get it on there.  ;)

after trying for a few minutes..I registered on a1k... downloaded the firmware but cant get the Indivision tools because the link is bad or something.

Indivision should have a easily accessible link on how to upgrade this thing without having to have users register on some forum to download an update. :-/

EDIT: after googling..I finally found 1.01 and tools.. so how does one update this if the .UPD file is 1mb?  I cant update the Indivision because my kipper2k board is too big.  So nothing to put it on since a floppy holds 880kb  :-/   ...now I'm stuck with an Indivision ECS that doesnt work with a widescreen LCD.

You can download all the cores from mfilos's site:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/939939/IndivisionECS_Cores.lha

Latest is 1.10 (not 1.01), you'll need that for HighGFX, HD720, and SuperPlus.  Try LHA'ing or ZIP'ing just the one you need, if you don't have any other way of transferring large files to your Amiga.

You can download the flash/config tools from Jen's website, here: http://wiki.icomp.de/w/images/3/39/Indivision_ECS_V101.lha

Looks like his site was down earlier, but should be working now.  :)

@Oldsmobile_Mike  The guides you have posted are very good, but I still have a few questions about the indivision ECS.

@ALL
First where do you get the indi.card  configuration files for the picasso96 if you do not have and A1k.org account?

Second can the indivision ECS use graffiti.library programs ie chunky graphic games, mac emulators, or picture viewers?  Do you just install the graffiti drivers like you using a real graffiti or do you do something else?  Is the resolution limited to 384×576 pixels on like on a normal OCS / ECS Amiga with a real graffiti or can the indivision go up to 768×576?

Lastly is there any advantage of using an ECS denise over and OCS denise with the indivision ECS.  I know you will need an ECS Agnus but other than a couple modes that the ECS denise can display over the OCS denise will this make a big difference with the indivision?

Graffiti is kinda useless on an ECS Amiga because the bandwidth is so slow.

No point changing Denise as the Indivision is an FPGA version of Denise (aka CloneA) which renders your original Denise redundant.
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

I thought maybe here.....

BTW, let us know if this procedure actually works!!!! :)
Also, would it be possible to make these files available to those of us that don 't have an A1K acct?
I would like to see if this really works!

I installed an ECS (SuperDenise) Denise in my A2K with the IndiECS and it had no advantage. (I need to pull that back out!) :hammer:

From Jens' WiKi page: Indivision ECS can display the ECS screenmodes even on systems that only have an OCS Denise chip, the only requirement is an ECS Agnus chip (which is usually present in all Amiga models made in 1990 or later).

Motormouth,

Don't know how you can get can get better than that with ECS 16 colors at 600x800 even with a graphics card. Does the program support RTG? be real. Indie is not a graphics card. Sure makes old games look good!

I bought the indivision ECS as a Scan Doubler  (I haven't received it yet)  but when I read that it could do more cool stuff (like graffiti graphics 256 color out of 12bit palette) and 256 color WB with Picasso96 it would be fun just to play.  I am well aware that this will be very very slow, but it would still be fun.  However graffiti may be useful for picture rendering or ADPro etc where speed does not matter.  Again this is mostly for fun.......
Also it is useful to know that I don't need to waste one of my ECS denise for the indivision.  I have a spare one, but I could put this in another amiga.

I was kinda of hoping you would know were to get these indi.card files without making a A1k.org account.   (my German "Deutsch" is a bit rusty, I haven't used it in over 20 years.)
Again thanks for the info about the ECS denise, I will not waste using with the indivision and will opt to go with a OCS denise.

If you read Oldsmobilie_Mike include links in this thread you can get 256 color WB with the Indivision ECS, but it is very very slow.   People were using the 16 color 800x600 WB for two reasons, one it is reasonably fast and two you don't need picasso96.  The original Graffiti was a planar to clunky graphics converter.  So in theory you can do RTG, the problem is of course it is slow.  Note:  This is all theoretical to me.  I haven't received my indivision ECS yet so I have not performed the empirical experiment yet.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I can't find a working link for the 1.10 core / updated 800x600 SuperRes monitor, despite hours of googling. The dropbox link is down and the A1K site requires registration, and registration is blocked.

Please could someone that has a copy put them somewhere accessible?

Wonderful, thanks. I can start prepping my CF card for when the aca500plus arrives :)

Once they reopen registration in the new year I'll sign up to A1k and improve my German...

Well, finally got back to this.  I downloaded the 1.10 firmware and flashed the Indivision ECS.  Hooked up my widescreen, no workie.   My non-widescreen LCD works though.

That's so odd. Mine works perfect on a 10 year old Envision POS. Too bad I gotta get my a$$ to bed pronto and work all weekend! I woulda went down to the basement and tried a few other widescreen monitors on the A500. The reason I say that is the old Envision is connected to the Miggy 1200 in the man-cubby on the second floor and the A500 is on the bench in the basement. Maybe I can get a chance Sunday evening. :)
