Hummm, sounds right so far. I think the 2091 identifies as 7, so 0-6 should be fine. If you pop a CD in and do a "diskchange CD0:" at the shell, anything happen?
Or what about just a straight up "cd CD0:"? If it's recognizing the drive at all it should say "no disk present", or something to that effect.
Is it a known-good drive? Have you tested it on any other machines?
Edit - you might want to go back and review Gizmo's link to the manual. I've been spoiled with CacheCDFS in 3.9, which "mostly works", "mostly better", haha.

Probably some AsimCDFS quirks I'm not aware of, though.
