Good luck guys :-)

The best advice I can give, based on interviews I've had in the past, is to know your CV or application form inside out.  A lot of their questions will be based on things you've written.

@T_Bone, hehehe, that's funny!  :-)

To everyone else,

Thanks for the support in my other (now closed) thread about my interview. heh, I think it went fairly well, and I may even get hired, but it was TOTALLY not what I was expecting.

Here's what happened: This Monday I did yet another mass-mailing of my resume to all sorts of companies, one of which was Convergys. Yesterday they called me up and said they'd like to meet with me. Great, but I couldn't say that I remember applying for any particular position with them, so I did some research and found them on the web. They have some software products and do some outsourcing stuff. Sounds cool!

Anyway, today I get there and realize right away something's kinda weird. Waiting for this "interview" are like 3 other people, and we all get called in at the same time by the same guy. We're immediately guided to a set of computers and are told we're gonna be tested!!! Yup, right away, didn't even ask my name yet - I could have been a delivery guy for all they knew. Anyway, so this test has nothing to do with programming, but with answering phone calls!!! ARGH!!! A BLOODY CALL CENTER!!! ARGH!!!

So yep, it seems they'll be handling tech support for FedEx. After the test, I thought about just leaving, but in the end decided to stay for the "interview". At this point I told the interviewer that I thought it was clear that I was applying for a software developer position, and that if they read my resume it should have been rather clear. I was hoping he'd tell me that they do have an IT department and I could then try to sell myself for that department since I already have my "foot in the door". But nope, they're 100% call center, no real IT department there. Anyway, I went along with the rest of the interview, and I think I did rather well so I wouldn't be surprised if they call me back...  Now I'm not sure if I want it. Do I really want to work at a call center? Anyone have experience on a call center? I'd be answering technical questions about Windows and proprietery FedEx software.

Btw, someone wanted to know what kind of questions they asked...  It was mostly behavioural stuff, like, Have you ever had to deal with angry customers, and how did you deal with them, etc, although the test before included some basic Windows tech skills.
