How much is my A4000D worth?
« on: June 13, 2013, 10:41:45 PM »
I've got the following in my working A4000D:

1) GVP060 accelerator w/128 megs of RAM & a SCSI2 cable out the back
2) Picasso-IV (video connector unbroken) w/the Concierto, Pablo, & Paloma daughter modules
3) Deneb USB Zorro card with the 2 USB ports edge connector dangling out the back (due to the P-IV needing 2 edge connectors) & an all-in-one multicard reader/writer (including 1 USB port) installed underneath the top floppy disk
4) Vortex Golden Gate 486SLC2 with the FDC & math co-processor chips plugged into their respective sockets + 16 megs of RAM + the Monitor Master dangling in the back
5) FastATA 4000 MK-??
6) unknown PATA HDD
7) DVD writer with DVD-ROM capabilities
8) MP3@C64 card on the DENEB's clockport with its output going to the internal L+R leads on the DVD writer
9) Catweasel MK2 Anniversary Edition on the IDE line dangling out the left side.
10)ISA 10 MbS Ethernet card for use with the Vortex Golden Gate 486SLC2

I say $3000 maybe even more.
The 486 card is very popular, I know some have gone for $1000.
The 060 by itself could get up to $1000 also.
List the non-essential cards as separate auctions.

I'd say it's worth approximately one arm and one leg.

4000 is worth about £500, 060 the same, PIV about 350,  Deneb about 250, Goldengate about 250-350, the test about 50-100 each Amiga board (PC boards are worth nothing).
Not $1000 for a Goldengate, no.... if it did happen once (I didn't see it) it was a fluke.

4000 is worth about 350-380 euro

Actually I was thinking of the PowerPC 604 + 060 cards that get up to $1000.
GVP 68O60 would be a maximum of $500.

Plus the desktop A4000 by itself without extras (instead of the tower A4000) will probably be worth $800.

Yeah, the person must have been desperate to have one. They might be rarer (or more sought after) where I am and fetch a higher price.

My own GG386 is about to become a GG486SLC/2, as soon as I can get a heatsink for it (I have the board and a brand new chip ready) - would that add about £600 to its value then? :P

The A4000D is worth more than 400 Euros, I reckon, without too much problem. I'd start at £500 myself if I were selling my one.

Really it's all just speculation, anyway, until you decide to either part it out, sell it as a whole, or whatever your intentions are.  One things for sure though, these damned 20 year old machines have sure held their value!

One sale doesn't dictate the value, though. I still reckon if you put a nice A4000 on eBay with a BIN of £500 you'd sell it before too long.

I'm not going to find out though :)

A4000s with a 3640 accelerator usually go for $350-$500. The GVP 060 accelerator should be worth $400 or more on it's own. You would get more parting it out. They are all sought after cards that fetch several hundred dollars apiece.
A2500 owned since 1993 with A2630/DKB 2632, DKB Megachip, GVP EGS Spectrum, A2320 and GVP HC+8 on the inside and a DCTV on the outside. A4000D with CSPPC, Cybervision 64 and a Flicker Magic flicker fixer. A4000T Toaster Flyer & CSMKII. All systems completly retro and classic and mostly used to do geometic art as in my avatar.

Yes, if it has all of what you say it has, and it works, then it is worth $3,000 or €2,300 or £2,000.

Don't believe Magnetic, he will just give you the prices HE wants to pay himself.  If you doubt the above estimate, just put it on the market and see.
