Obviously the mechanism is, could it be Skai?  They rebadged a lot of stuff mid 80s to early 90s.

Its not TEAC at all, its very different internally to the drive picture above, with another manufacturer printed on the PCB and motor...

If you type in the part number on the drive, you actually find reference to it being used in a Commodore Amiga computer, and an external Commodore drive...

Of course, this could be in correct, as the internet does have a nasty habit of lying :p
