No complaints there, i was just curious what the differences were and if i needed to grab one to go along with the zoram.

@Amigakit. Can we expect a little techie info on the BigRAMPlus. Is it an improvement/replacement over the ZorRAM . . . etc?

I purchased the ZorRAM 128MB on release, installed in an A4KD, and have had no troubles with it whatsoever.

As many of you know, AmigaKit.com funded development of ZorRAM two years ago and we have been slowly selling through our investment since.  At the time, DKB3128s were being sold for extremely high prices on EBay and ZorRAM represented a low priced alternative to DKB3128s.  ZorRAM works on AmigaOS 2, 3, 3.1, 3.5, 3.9 and we paid for it to work on AmigaOS 4.1 Classic when we sponsored the development.  ZorRAM is a very small Zorro 3 board so will not occupy much room inside a big box Amiga's case.

The BigRAMPlus is stocked by AmigaKit.com, however it is manufactured by our hardware partner, Individual Computers.  It is a full size Zorro 3 card so it much wider than ZorRAM and works with AmigaOS 2, 3.x.

We stock BigRAMPlus because we want to offer the widest range of Amiga equipment to our customer base and want to always be able to offer the latest available Classic hardware.

I have a mediator with some empty PCI slots, I am not sure how many, but at least 1.

Have you considered a Radeon 9200 to add RAM via the PCI slot. It gives you the remaining ram not used for video. Sadly not under OS 4.1

All ram on my Radeon 9200 is used for gfx.

Are you saying I can add multiple Radeon cards and use 1 as my gfx card and the others can be used solely as RAM cards?

Use a Voodoo 3 as GFX and a radeon as extra ram

Don't forget though, the graphics card RAM is very slow to read from. I wouldn't use it for that unless you need to.

Actually the access speed of the Radeon ram is identical to that of ZorRam (the numbers are on Hyperion's forum).

Are you sure all 128/256 MB of ram is used for graphics?  I run 1920X1080 at 16.8 million colors and use less than 16 MB (actually closer to . These are the numbers I get in OS 3.9 and 4.1; or is this reported wrong?

You mean Workbench is only using 8MB.

If you run a game then the game uses as much ram as it wants.

If you run an excellent gfx card game it will happily use an excellent 256MB of gfx card ram.
