Apology
« on: January 14, 2012, 04:56:06 AM »
Although I do not feel I have written anything over the past several months that I feel warrants this apology, I see that I have offended a few members here with my attempts at encouraging more members to participate in promoting, or in some other way helping the Amiga community as a whole.

I would like to assure all of you that my intentions are purely out of my desire to improve and help this tiny niche community grow and prosper.

To those members who have felt offended by anything I have written, I sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding we may have experienced.  I am very passionate about this hobby and this community and often try too hard to inspire growth and cooperation, while trying to minimize fighting and name calling here in these forums.

With that in mind, please accept this apology for any past mistakes I have made, and let us all experience a better year in 2012.

I also plan to express my opinions less this year and concentrate more on learning how to program on and for AmigaOS1.x to 3.x, OS4.x, MorphOS3.x and AROS, so you will probably see much less of me on the forums.  My plan is to limit my posts to help on any questions asked, and (for the most part) return to my lurking habits that I practiced here for several years, before I became more active posting on this forum site.

This announcement is not to say that I am fed up and going away, or anything like that.  I just think I can better use my time and energy, but will continue to read this forum site every day, as I did for years before I started expressing my own opinions.

Have a great year, and as a last parting comment, enjoy your Amiga (what ever that means to you) and share your enjoyment with others.

Thanks for all the fish!
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Dave, you've contributed more to the Amiga community than the bunch of whinging pr*cks that have nothing better to do than complain about anything and everything...

Commodore/Amiga may be long gone, but these people do nothing but ruin what's left of the community for others.

I just don't understand why some people feel the need to tell the world (and then keep telling some more) how much they hate AROS/OS4/MorphOS/CUSA, etc etc...

Nobody's feeding anybody a sh*t sandwich.  If you don't like a product or company, then don't use it or buy from them.

Seriously people, get a f*cking life...

Sad really that we can't get along.

My personal experience with Amiga now is a CD32, with A4000 keyboad, joystick and mouse.

I love WINUAE, fastest Amiga ever, sure others will scoff saying the Amiga is not real but it is the cheapest way to get into the Amiga.

Good luck amigadave, keep up the good work!

This is what I'm trying to do as well mate and it seems to work just fine on my mentality and fun over being on these forums all these years :)

It's not bad expressing your opinion from time to time, but I found out that putting aside what you love most to argue/promote/suggest or even dispute, despite being healthy... it's time and energy consuming as most of us are now grown people with their own pros and cons. Sorry but I'll pass :D
Amiga indeed has a really nice and active community that is (like all) a miniature life of a real society with every problem that exists there.

I really like to help and get helped but that's about it. :)

Back to the topic... I can't wait seeing more of your programming work mate.
Keep up the good work and ofc, keep us posted \o/

Stating ones beliefs never requires an apology.

You're a tremendous help to people around here with your knowledge, Dave - and it'd be a lesser place without you around.

I would just like to add that if I have offended anyone I honestly don't care. I am, after all, a bit of a git. :D

Dave, you are a voice of reason, and a peacemaker. Thicken your skin
and keep posting. The asylum wing of A.org will continue ranting regardless, less communication from 'the staff' won't inhibit the crazies and troublemakers.

Have you waxed the snow shovel yet? :)

@amigadave

You don't have anything to apologise for.  The people who have been offended by things you said were going to be offended anyway - the people in question are only here looking for an excuse to twist anything positive into an excuse for an argument anyway.

@amigadave, I throw my fire helmet in your corner!  Now, who would like a go!!!:madashell:

All I have ever seen from Dave is his passion for the Amiga and anything promoting it.  Always helping folks with problems, and asking questions from developers that always seem to help us all in the end.

To the very sensitive A.org members please man up.

I actually find this apology amusing! :roflmao:

Dave, do you always apologise after a debate?   :roflmao:
