my guess:  you have an old version of "installer" lurking around somewhere.

Maybe C:  or Sys:Tools

mine is in C:

Installer 44.10

What can I say... I'm a professional easy problem solver. ;P

You can always blame installers of programs.

Always check the files inside the program directory you want to install first.  Compare the versions with the files on your libs, c, l, etc...

When you install them, they sometimes might copy old versions to somewhere in your Path or worse yet overwrite them.

Hi again, i have a question ,My Amiga 1200 with a matrix accelerator fitted 32mb ram works quite well ,but after installing Boingbags 1+2 there was no improvement ,infact the The Amplifier became quite unstable ,so i then installed
Boingbag 3. woe what a mistake that was ,make sure you make a cold start after installing 3 ,and i did ,so that was that ,back to a fresh install, wonderful the the Amp now just plays track after track ,of wonderful Beatle music, so do i really need to install all the Boingbags?,well i hope the answer is no ,lol ,just a thought ,best wishes Brian.:)

mrmoonlight, well I always had trouble with AMPlifier, so I switched to the uglier (but funtional) SongPlayer... You may also want to play around with AMPlifier's config. a little.. I finally got it working fairly well on my A1200 Tower...

boingbag1 and 2 are official.

boingbad3 and 4 are unofficial and there are some files in them that were updated after boingbag2. you can simply handpick those that work with your setup.

As far as I know, some parts of AmigaOS ROM Update from boinbag2 can be incompatible with certain Amiga hardware like the exec part. You can simply skip certain parts of the rom update.

Another thing,
Quote
make sure you make a cold start after installing 3

I recommend to a cold start after ANY post OS3.5 install or update... Due to the reboot to update the ROM... Something to do with KickTagPointers, is it?
Anyway, you update the WB install, copies the new OS ROM update to the HD, but the old one is still locked in memory... :(

One of the few times, I will actually wait the recommended 30 secs. before turning my miggy back on! LOL!

Hello, I am the maintainer of the BB3 and BB4 packages. These packages do work on most systems. Could you please provide a more detailed bug report about exactly what problem BB3 is causing on your system, and I will investigate. Many thanks.

Hi ,let me first say i am no expert on the Amiga ,but the worst problem was it made the Amplifier crash with in seconds of the song playing ,the same songs that would play all day before i installed the boingbags ,the settings were all low ,the Amiga is a Amiga 1200 with a matrix accelerator with 32 mb ram ,and plays mono very well ,im not sure what else you want to know ,best wishes Brian.

Which processor do ya have in your Amiga, mrmoonlight?
Hate to say, but my A4000 WarpEngine ('040/40) can play 1 or 2 MP3's, if lucky.. and that's using SongPlayer. AMPlififier takes more CPU power yet. (IMHO)

Did you try messing with the settings of Amplifier?

As far as I remember, something got updated for Amplifier (paulaaudio.device?)
