I didn't realise that Duke 3D had been ported to the Amiga. Where is the download link?

Also it would be horrible to play without freelook. It is not DOOM, the maps were not created before the advent of freelook, that would make it damn near impossible.

I remember Dark Forces kind of having a free look system, but it's consisted of pushing the UP arrow key to look up and the Down Arrow key to look down, which in the end sucked a lot, though thankfully DarkXL is on it's way (at least for Windows users atm) and that will clear up that problem.

Anyhow, yes, please post the link to the download, and yes if the game runs crap, it definitely deserves an update if anyone is willing! Duke was one of the best games ever. I still play the XBOX classic homebrew port of it and Shadow Warrior all the time. Works great with dual analog!

At least it should be possible to disable it.

I asked my really good friend, google did he know where to find it and he told me this:

http://users.neoscientists.org/~dante/

Making another port from atari C sources would be quite much easier task than original/first port from x86 asm sources

You do not seem to understand the very simple game mechanics I kindly explained to you.
YES, the hitscan autoaims for you on the Y axis - this is NOT a reason for not being able to look up or down in Duke3D! The autoaim only works for targets you SEE.
If you know your enemy went into an apartment way above your head, and you cannot see him, but still need to throw in a pipebomb or fire in an RPG through the window to blow him up - how do you do this without aiming up or down?
This is extremely obvious in multiplayer - maybe not so much with slow and stupid single player enemies on standard maps on a low difficulty setting.

I do understand it, but it more fun to play games like this with joypad. In this case it is possible and not even hard, like it would be games like quake
