The Vic series was being shipped to end user via China, I have a feeling the initial batch was sold out and that is the reason why there are now delays until June for those AIO systems.

So basically you have no idea, but you're willing to make up any excuse you can think of.

For the C64x, the early pre-orders should be getting them in early May.  First mold is very close to being finished, probably next week.  Once that is done (acid wash and final inspections are completed), it goes to the company to begin injection molding the case which are given to the assemblers, which are all in southern Florida.

The first mold has been very close to being finished for about a month now.

@Dammy

Randy,

I'm not sure the roles are clearly defined. It's just fine to have PR people and fans. Heck you need both. But the problem to me arises when I don't know who's speaking for the company.
As a fan, you said "I suspect you will be able to buy the C64x in the local (USA) big box retail store sooner then pre-orders will get theirs. The big box store ordered first after all."
April 6, 2011
Then Leo, as a spokesperson said "Delivery should be between late May and early June, and they'll be shipped according to order placement as soon they're built."
A few days ago
Now today you say "For the C64x, the early pre-orders should be getting them in early May."

Even for someone who reads as much as I do and tries to follow the story, this gets confusing. Someone seeing this from "outside" might find it more confusing.
In just these few sentences alone, I left to wonder
(1)whether the big box order is getting product first or the website preorders.
(2)whether shipment to one or the other is in early May or late May/early June.

I just think it's in the best interest of the company to have a little discussion to clarify your schedule before posting what seems to be slightly different information.
I understand that you are a start up. That's great. I accept that. I also accept that schedules change. We've seen that throughout Amigaland, particularly with small projects. The problem, Dammy, is that people are expecting more cohesion coming out of C=USA due to the way they have presented themselves initially.
I'm impressed by the partnership and press coverage, don't get me wrong. But you need to follow that up with public information/relations of the same calibur.

I think thats a large part of why people keep knocking them.

Once, they said all their computers would come with aros pre-installed.

Next, they trash AROS as not commercially viable.

Next they announce "commodore os" which will be ubuntu with a commodore wallpaper, but hey it takes a long time to come up with a nice commodore wallpaper, so it won't be included with our computers just yet.

There is also all the computers they announced then never delivered on.
I've counted about 6 so far that dissapeared with no further explanation after all that hype. Plus all the fake prototype pictures and so on.

They really do need to get their story straight.

If you don't want to get trashed, don't make it so easy for people to do
so. Alot of the resentment against them they generated by these things.

There is also the fact that they are doing the least work possible while expecting the most attention. Anyone can slap a sticker on an existing product, and I'd venture to say anyone with decent computer hobby skills can make their own pc in a c64 case for 1/2 the price they ask.

I think AROS/MorpOS and yes even os4 is worthy of alot more attention.

Imagine the work hours that have gone in to each project.

Also Netami, minimig and others, have all done 25X the work into their respective projects. None of these people are claiming to be the saviors of the sacred name. :)

This is basically it, for me. People can snob all they want about how NatAmi and the like will never be a commercial success or a serious market contender (because that's totally what matters,) but most Amiga-community projects have involved way more blood, sweat, and tears for way more creative ideas and made far less of a hullaballoo about themselves. Proof once again that the people that toot their own horns the loudest are the ones who'd get nothing but silence otherwise...

The Commodore Wars 2011:

The Allies: Very expensive custom machines that look like PC's running real Amiga OS

The Dictators: Affordable PC's that look like a commodore with a false Amiga OS

both with promises of releases, both with annoying delays.

The Dream an affordable custom machine that looks like a commodore/amiga and runs real Amiga OS

@ haywirepc

You left one out, Haywire: they want nothing to do with the Amiga community, we're not they're core demographic, and yet they still hang around on this and other Amiga forums anyway.

Truth be told, they're "Indiana Jonesing" this whole thing. IOW: "making it up as they go..."

I would like to know how a guy that deals in bathroom fixtures can up and decide he wants to sell crap PCs inside C64 cases?

Although he has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau, clearly such an individual should be capable of bringing something like the Commodore OS to fruition. I mean after all selling toilets and sinks is tough business!

http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/bathroom-fixtures-and-accessories-retailing/homecraft-in-fort-lauderdale-fl-23006396

Anyone who buys from this guy is an idiot. A fool and his money are soon parted indeed...

Wow thats funny!

Complaint type
Total Closed Complaints
Advertising / Sales Issues 6
Delivery Issues 2
Problems with Product / Service 4
Total Closed Complaints 12

Takes an awful lot to make most people complain to the better business beureau too. I wonder how many other people got ripped off and didn't bother to complain. An F rating with the bbb is really bad for business.

Maybe he can't keep hocking furniture, so he decided to do CUSA instead.

Sometimes I find it hard not to like Barry, he installed Satellite TV receivers and owns a furniture store.  His house is ordinary.  This is his one last attempt to make a mark on the IT world.  He likely won't make it, but you know he could have just settled back and enjoyed his life on the beach and the money coming from the furniture store, but instead he bet the farm on one last go.  He got to be big shot talking to these humungous Chinese manufacturing facilities.  He a bit forrest gump....
