@commodorejohn I would've thought the US home appliance rental market would be their primary target.

And who says it'll be an openly advertised "feature"?  The user fails to pay the bill and the product "mysteriously" stops working within a week.  Options = Pay the bill (+ reset fee) or send it back.

I suppose that's possible, but the way they're openly flaunting it at the moment seems to defeat any attempts at secrecy. o_O Anyway, how long would it take for word-of-mouth to spread even if they did manage to keep it a secret?

I can see it now.  You are working on your 'Amiga' computer (which probably just has Windows on it) when all of a sudden it shuts down.  Is it a virus?  Did it overheat?  Did your video card just catch fire?  No!  You forgot to pay your bill, you schmuck!

I agree that this may be beneficial for both Commodore and IContain, since it can only help boosting brand awareness (though the brand values (what it "stands for") may be even more confused). Two "workers" will achieve more work in total, than one alone.

Of course raising brand awareness is also good for Amiga Inc, since their quest at the moment is to sell the whole shebang. Which of course is why they suddenly lets licensor's in! ;)

Speaking of that, if Barry Altman really has some serious money in the bank (as has been suggested), why don't he simply place a bid on the Amiga IP? It must be *a lot* cheaper now, than when Amino bought it, right...?

Maybe but unlike you franko i can't just walk outside and pick up a hand full of muddy snow and through it into a bowl on the kitchen table and wait for it to melt so i can drink it. Also downunder we are more sophisticated in that we don't drink our own bath water unlike they do in the uk  :)

If we did drink our own bath water we would have all died of thirst by now cos we only have bath once a year... :)

p.s. i have heard that squirrels bum is a great alternative to ciggies :hammer:

I'm not sure sniffing pesticide is a good thing. If you really want to sniff something may i recommend a squirrels bum. I've heard it's a great alternative to ciggies. Let me know how it works out :hammer:
