I don't know why no one has posted this link yet, and I feel terrible for letting this thread get this far before replying. Here is an outdated PCMCIA network card compatibility list:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j72NjheWP-AiCab has very primitive CSS support and not a single website I visited was laid out correctly. Since it's about ten times slower than IBrowse and offers no real advantage, it's not worth using through Shapeshifter to browse the web, but it's a nice experiment to try.
I was browsing ebay.co.uk just the other night and came across a few compatible PCMCIA network cards, but I didn't know anyone was looking for one so I didn't say anything. Keep an eye out for Etherlink III cards, many A1200 users including myself use them and they're great.
If you want IBrowse to run a bit faster it's best to disable Javascript and only enable it on the sites that require it to work properly. IBrowse is good in this way as it lets you set different settings for individual websites. You don't need Javascript enabled to browse Amiga.org through Karlos' proxy, for example.
