The Typical Amiga.org Member In 2010 (according to the Polls)...
« on: November 17, 2010, 06:26:17 PM »
Well after the glut of all the recent polls asking you just about everything from which is your favorite Amiga to how old is your uncle Wullies dug, we can finally come to some conclusions about just who the typical Amiga.org member is in the year 2010. :)

Based on the following poll results (which we all know are carried out very scientifically and the polls never lie) and having collated all the results and ran them through my grannies old Singer Sewing Machine (not the PPC version) the result are as follows...

Knit one, Purl One, Knit one, Purl two, Knit two, Dropped Stitch...

Erm... sorry slight hiccup there, here are the correct results (in no particular order)...

Do you approve of PPC (in some form) as the future of Amiga
No, Amiga should go the x86 route = 48.28%

Do you still enjoy your Amiga ?
Yes ! = 84.81%

What best describes you
I enjoy computers = 57.14%

Which is your main/most used Amiga?
A1200 = 32.97%

New Web Browser = 35.48%

How many classic Amiga computers do you currently own?
2 to 5 = 38.28%

No = 89.66%

Should a computer require learning or just be an appliance
A machine that requires learning and tinkering = 38.89%
Other = 38.89%

Where In The World...
Europe = 28.07%

A better PPC accelerator poll
I'm not interested. = 28.41%

Which software is cooler?
Classic Amiga OS = 46.55 %

Which Amiga OS Is Used Most...
OS 3.9 = 36.99%

Do you take part in polls?
Are you kidding me? I love Polls, I love all people from Eastern Europe.. = 38.10%

Suggestion: other operating systems forum be moved to coffee house
Leave things the way they are its not really a problem at all. = 59.09%

The Totally UnBiased Poll... Is The Amiga The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread..
Of Course... 43.48%

Answer Truthfully Now... Do you Currently Use Any Copyrighted Software That You Haven't Actually Paid for..
Yes = 70.16%

never = 62.96%

Did you run a pirate version of MS DOS and Win 3.xx?
No = 53.73%

Conclusion...
Well I reckon I'll leave it to someone else to analyze and conclude just what makes the up the typical Amiga.org member in the year 2010, but a quick glance tells you we are all basically mad and seem to enjoy nothing more than answering silly polls posted by nosey buggers like myself who definitely have too much time on their hands... :)

After a rigorous statistical breakdown, taking into account all demographics, variance, seasonal adjustment and factors to numerous to go into here, I can reveal the one overriding fact that emerges from these data:

Pancakes!

That is to say, your polls need more of them.

Well, you only have extrated the most voted of a multiple options poll, and all others option are of people that are interested and it all added are nearly 50% so it is obvious that you have taken data for have a specific average user profile that match your personal taste

For shame Franko!
Hopefully as CEO of Commodore Scotland you can help rectify this situation!

Alternatively, he's posted the most-voted option from every single poll and provided links to each poll for people who want to know what the deal with a specific poll is. But that's just crazy talk!

@ Fransexy
Erm... still trying to figure out what you mean, but here my guess... :confused:

So what your saying for example is, Take one of those TV Talent shows the winner is not the one with the most votes but he/she is in fact the loser because if you add up all the other votes for all the other contestants and they come to more than the winners vote total, then the winner is actually the loser and everyone else wins instead, is that what you mean... :)

Plus you picked the worst example to match my personal taste I use a PPC and am a fan of the PPC so I don't see how that matches my personal taste...

There's just no pleasing some folk is there... :roflmao:

@ Jorkany
Well as CEO then I'm the boss and can do as I ruddy well please, so in this case I say sod it, the polls stand as they are, everyone is fired and I'm off down the pub where my accountant can total up my money and polish my shoes just before I fire him too... :roflmao:

Very nice Franko -- except that you have the percentage wrong on the "Where in the World" poll.  You forgot to include the UK, which is clearly a member of the European Union, in that percentage.  No reply necessary, but I gather that I'm going to get one anyway.  :^)

Awe naw not this again, this was well debated in the thread the option was Europe not European Union, two entirely different things... :)

Read the arguments about it in thread, cos there's not point in repeating them here again... :)

Sorry but I like to be polite and reply anyway... :lol:
