Well, you only have extrated the most voted of a multiple options poll, and all others option are of people that are interested and it all added are nearly 50% so it is obvious that you have taken data for have a specific average user profile that match your personal taste

I wonder if this is off-topic or not, considering the thread is about the "Typical Amiga.org Member in 2010"?

The current AW poll about a new accelerator has received 3 times the number of respondents compared to the amiga.org poll being referred to. Since amiga.org is acknowledged to be the home of most classic users, it does beg the question whether the AW poll is mostly a result of amiga.org members responding.
If so, the results in so short a time are somewhat interesting, imo.

Only26.90% of users approve of a PPC future? Argh! 2 out of 3 NG OS' are PPC based.

Where I come from (using a PPC OS) I'd call it clueless.
Everyone voices their opinions, but who backs up their opinions with a purchase (you know - sticking your money where your mouth is)? AOS 4.X and MorphOS users.
With all the posts favoring X86, you'd think Franko's poll would have produced more AROS users.

That's my fault, sorry, but as I didn't include AROS or MorphOS at the start of the poll, it's probably no quite a true representation as I had to get Karlos to modify the poll later on to rectify the complaints that the poll received from Aros & MorphOS users... :o

Does anyone here really beileve that these polls accurately represent anything?

It looks to me that less than 5% of the members of this site even bother to vote on any of them, so I would not seriously consider the results to represent a Typical Amiga.org Member in 2010, or any other year.

Enjoy them for what they really are, a way to pass time for someone with more time than they know what to do with.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Of course these are fun polls, not scientific ones.  But keep in mind that political polls/estimates are determined by *much* less than 5% of actual registered voters.  These Amiga polls do convey a certain amount of information -- though certainly the error bars are pretty large.

Dave! Don't insult the retro computer users. They'll get huffy and pout.
Besides, we already know what you'd move to.
