Well, well, look here. All-in-one keyboard computers *do* still exist. It kinda looks cool, but not as cool as my Amiga. :-D

That is without a doubt one of the coolest pc's I've seen, their homepage. Just think, it's only taken 20 years to see a pc fit in a 64 footprint. ;)

This thing's been around for at least 10 years, or whenever the modern thin laptops first came about.

Maybe Kees should put up a permanent link so people won't have to post this every six months. ;-)

There were Pentium 4 PCs in a classic micro form factor 10 years ago...? Er, sorry dude, I think you got your wires crossed!

Uh, no, this has not been around for 10 years. And regarless of how much you scoff it's still an excellent little package. I might just order two of them tomorrow.

A game console, X-Arcade Controller, and that = one awesome MAME machine. Heck, toss Win-UAE on it and you have an awesome additon to the den!  :-D

I already have the X-Arcade controller and a fixed up Defender console, now I can just toss that thing in there on a nice keyboard drawer and it's done. The only downside to it that I can see is there is no SVideo output on it, so that means I'll have to use a 19inch monitor instead of a cheap 24 26 inch TV from Walmart.

Noooo.....  my wires are just fine.

Cybernetman has been around for over 10 years.  The Zero-Footprint PC originally had a 386SX processor.  It had a floppy instead of a CD, and probably had no more than a 20 Megabyte hard drive.

It's just a laptop motherboard in a custom keyboard case.

I used to see these advertised in the back of Infoweek and  Infoworld (back when it was still printed on newsprint).  I thought it was cool 10 years ago.  Ridiculously expensive, though.  Of course, they were trying to sell them to offices.

(Just FYI - I'm old enough to have seen an IMSAI 8080 back when it was brand new - 1974!  Don't argue hardware with me ;-) )

Fair enough... I wasn't trying to argue. My point really was that some people might find it interesting, even if they passed off your fashion radar a decade ago...

YUK

I will never ever understand why people want to get one of the worst
unergonomic designs back to daily computing. The design that made
home-computers mere toys, compared to real computers ...

1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Meh.

I suppose it has it's use. Just like the VIA eden or a shuttle HTPC. But I prefer my laptop with the built in 14.1" Active TFT. :D

And any real modder out there could take a VIA eden and put it into an amiga housing anyway. ;) I know I could if I had the time, money (to buy the VIA board), and a spare broken A500. :) But if noone else has done it yet though, I'd be surprised.

I would have to agree, a Laptop is way better than another other "Small footprint" form factor computers.

Having just bought one, I could never go back...

I tried to cram a MiniITX into an A1200 case, but the DIMM sticks up where the keyboard needs to be.
And without extensive modification to the A1200 case a PC key board won't fit... or maybe one could build an Amiga to PS/2 keyboard adaptor... that would be quite nice actually.

Not as good as the A1200 case imho. Any chance of putting that pc into a A1200 case?

Simple, office space (desktop space). The design of this machine takes even less than if you used a notebook and plugged a real keyboard into it (so you can atually type on one). :)

I also will never understand why they stopped making slimline desktop cases (that fit under your monitor). They'd be perfect with today's integrated micro ATX motherboards and they'd take up zero desk (or floor) space because they'd fit under the monitor's footprint.
