Heck I've even had to lump Scotland in with the UK, quite a hard choice to make that one was...
Officially the UK is defined as the United Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland.
...and yes we are all technically part of Europe even if we don't feel like it.
BTW I'm from Northern Ireland in case you're wondering.
Netherlands, so Europe, but I wish someday it can be USA, I would do anything to get out of this hell hole.
Don't knock it, Having lived in the UK most of my life, the US (briefly) and The Netherlands, there is no contest as to where I'd go if given the choice*: easily The Netherlands.
*Actually if given the choice I'd go to France first, but maybe that's because I like latin girls ;-p
USA is great if you have money, otherwise you're completely F***ed. Their poverty rates and social systems are really quite awful compared to Europe. The US would be a nice place to live, but only with a good job.
...& Political Correctness. I think it's the same in most countries these day's
Political Correctness is just hard left wing in disguise. It doesn't seem to have caught on in France and I don't imagine the rest of Europe either.
I wouldn't go as far a lumping in the UK with Europe. Thats why we still use £s and not Euros, were mostly a bunch of nationalistic anti Euro sceptics here...
So was I once, then I lived with it (the change over happened while I was living in Amsterdam). One you've lived with it, it makes a hell of a lot of sense.
OTOH if we adopted the Euro we'd end up having our financial system being run by Germans. The Germans have had financial stability for 65 years, The UK economy on the other hand has almost collapsed *twice* in the last 35 years. Would I like to see the Uk economy run by the Germans? Hell yes! They do a lot better job than our bankers do.
UK people like to complain about Europe a lot but I'd much sooner live on mainland Europe than in the UK. I don't remember the taxes being much higher but if they are you feel that get it back, their transport systems are cheaper and far better, their health system the same. This is very unlike in the UK where you get the distinct impression that all your tax is going into someone's pocket and you don't get F*** all back.
