Suggestion: other operating systems forum be moved to coffee house

Just wondering if this could be done, I usually only browse the forums here based on the front page's new posts. The other operating systems forum seems to have become an apple forum so its posts are kinda off topic to be appearing on the front page. Or perhaps an apple forum could be created in coffee house instead?

I vote for keeping the Other OS where it is. But I would really love to see a Macsturbation Only section inside Coffe House, so that this site still keeps itself worth of its own slogan.

It would be nice to have those iPads, iPhones, iSh*t threads somewhere else than visible at the home page of Amiga.org!

Yea, there are hardly any Apple threads in there. Now that MorphOS runs on most of the G4 Macs it might be more relevant to have Apple discussions every once and a while....

The front page on Amiga.org shows only 10 threads. Why should any of them be about anything but amiga?

edit: I dont have a problem with MorphOS on mac hardware threads, or news about amiga emulators running on other operating systems, but to continually come to this site and see iphone and OSX threads on the front page is kinda annoying, isnt there anywere else people can go to discuss how much profit apple made this year besides an amiga forum?

I do agree that the Apple profit thread is kind of annoying but sometimes it's interesting to hear a fellow Amiga persons view on Alternative Operating systems.

Also, how often are you interested in all 10 current front page threads?. I rarely care about more then 1 or 2 at most?

This is an Amiga user forum, and some of those users also use Macs and other Apple products. I don't see a problem.

Hmmm... perhaps that particular post should've been posted in the Coffee House section.

However I do believe that discussions about other platforms is a positive thing.

I doubt it is going anywhere, the majority view is to keep it in view of the front page. Pyromania would have to make that call and AFAIK he is comfortable with how it is.

We do see your point, it is after all Amiga.org. We would have to fiqure out how to impliment something like that though.

You could implement a bit of CSS/script that blacks out words like Apple, Microsoft, Windows, etc.

I thought it would be interesting to learn about Apples fortunes and discuss them.
I say leave it, but put the disclaimer "Must have something of interest to Amigans."

Even I don't like hearing the latest ipad news, but it reflects peoples other interests and lets you get a better angle on them. e.g. which platform they jumped to after their Amiga couldn't cope as a primary home PC.

I would like it to stay and I would like to read about other OSes like Haiku and any Amiga like Linux.
