Classic amiga fails horribly at browsing in my view

I did hear rumours of an OWB port for 68k?   This would have at least understood CSS.

The current website doesn't mention non PPC Amiga though ... :s

I use my Sam everyday for programming in Hollywood and playing some game for example 1942 Extrem Deluxe. And when I use my PC so is for use the WinUAE, although in PC is to make things for Amiga example PNG icons or the update of my Amiga sites.
Amiga 500 with ROMs 1.3-2.05 and M-Tec AT 500 with hard disk and 4MB Ram.
WinUAE + Original OS 3.5&3.9
Sam440ep 800 MHZ + OS 4.1 F.E.
Sam460ex 1 GHz + OS 4.1 + Update 6. K.O.
MacMini 1.5 GHz + MorphOS 3.9
PowerBook G4 1.65 + MorphOS 3.9

We had this thread about classic amigas.

If we expand the definition to include morph, os4 and aros as well as classics, how many use a form of amiga as their primary computer or the computer they use most of the time, at least ?

What do you do on said computer?

I've been using the machine detailed in my signature for everything (email/IRC/AIM/WWW) since my Powerbook G4's hard drive physically crashed before last Christmas (funds are tight). I'm enough of an Amiga nut that I'm going to overclock my 060 before I get my Mac a new drive... serves it right. ;o)
Amiga 4000: OS 3.9, 136M FastRAM, Cyberstorm MK-III 68060/50, 18G UWSCSI Seagate Cheetah (10K RPM), 4G SCSI Seagate Barracuda, Cybervision 64/3D, IOBlix, Oktagon 2008, Ariadne II connected wirelessly to an Apple Airport Extreme, viewed with a 19" NEC Multisync 95 CRT in 1280x1024x64K colors *only Amiga makes it paw-sible*

I can't believe you are not running MorphOS on that Power Mac. It is so much fun! Yes yes, no AGA chipset, no Paula, but very enjoyable none the less! I can't say I felt sad at all when I began to wipe OS X from the drive of my last Mac. :)

Anyhow, I would really like to swing by some time and check out your set up some day.

I say it's a 60/40 split. I use the quad core 60% of the time and my 600 40%. If I had something like a x1000 I would certainly use that more and the Windows machine would get used far less. I just need something reliable for browsing the net and such.

The only computer I have on my desk is my Amiga. I have a work laptop that I use for watching the occasional you tube video or doing some internet banking and my Wife uses it for facebook. If I didn't have the work laptop we'd probably buy a basic laptop to have around the house.

Since I got back into Amiga's a couple of years ago I've mainly been configuring the OS to my ideal specification which takes time.....once this is complete I'll probably just use it for email, basic browsing (mainly amiga sites) and programming.

Yes but its just not about webbrowsing. I for example need to compose music on Renoise(+VST's), edits sounds with SoundForge, watch movies/tv-shows and listen to music with PS3 Media Server,  play games on Steam... having a "retrocomputer" only just isn't an option for many.

My main computer is PowerBook G4. In fact I do not own a PC, but have one at work, and sometimes even use it, mainly testing my webdevelopment work on different browsers (after doing the design with Odyssey).

I don't use any of my Miggies (all classics) as my main computer, just use them for fun when I feel like it, like my other classic computers.

My main computer is, and for the foreseeable future will remain, a Win7/Linux pc.

Life sucks. Then you die. Then they throw mud in your face. Then you get eaten by worms. Be happy it happens in that order... My Amiga 1200

For a while I was trying to use my SAM440ep-mini as my main computer, but was forced to guit (for a while) because I found myself setting it up more than getting things done.
Now with my new job and some family matters I have very little hobby time on my hands. I hope I manage to change the situation soonish.
Then I will set up AEROS+MOS+AOS4+AOS3 systems to run in parallel and with that combo I'm pretty sure I can happily use Amigalikes as my main system(s). (then bye bye Linux desktops, go where Windows and OSX went already, the dumbster)

If you lack time it's better you focus on a single machine, otherwise you'll spend more time configuring and installing stuff instead of using your favourite OS.

My main machine is a G4 Mac Mini running MorphOS although I use others from time to time. I mostly use it to browse the web, email, chat, code, use it to play audio/videos and test amiga stuff.
