On another note watch out for PayPal now too! I will no longer use them after I was ripped off by a buyer.
I sold a T68i GSM phone to a guy in Estonia last week. Before the auction closed he wrote me about 4 times making sure I would ship to him and accept paypal. I said I would if he paid the shipping. He paid me wirh PayPal and as soon as he got the tracking number I got a email from PayPal telling me the payment was fraud. Well I said okay I am protected and should get my money for the phone still.. WRONG!! Estonia is not a PayPal prefered country and they took the money from m. I have since called them and argued the matter showing them the tracking number, they guys address and th fact he got the product. The sad thing is, the same persons name that the card belonged to email me BEFORE the auction. I looked on ebay and this same person scammed others in the same few days he did it to me. Inddistwill is the usename.
I bought a load of Amiga bits on ebay a few weeks back, and when over to they guy's house to collect the bits. Him and his wife invited me in, and I ended up staying there for about an hour, drinking tea and chatting, and while I was there I ended up answering his PC questions - he wanted to know how to attach emails (he needed to forward some he had received to PayPal).
Reason being - someone had bought some phones from him on ebay, paid by PayPal, and luckily for him, his family was out on the Saturday, and so he wasn't able to send the item till the following Monday. Turns out Paypal contacted him on the Sunday telling him that the transaction was fraudulent. Turns out that the addressee was in Estonia, but the original bidder was in America. Anyway, beware scammers, definitely, when selling items worth a lot of money!!!
