Ebay is indeed not perfect. I have also had an experience at buying a video-editing card, paid over 100 euro by banktransfer and never got the card and the person was after a while also not registered anymore ... bummer .. lost the money ... couldn't laugh at it ... :-x

On another note watch out for PayPal now too! I will no longer use them after I was ripped off by a buyer.

I sold a T68i GSM phone to a guy in Estonia last week. Before the auction closed he wrote me about 4 times making sure I would ship to him and accept paypal. I said I would if he paid the shipping. He paid me wirh PayPal and as soon as he got the tracking number I got a email from PayPal telling me the payment was fraud. Well I said okay I am protected and should get my money for the phone still.. WRONG!! Estonia is not a PayPal prefered country and they took the money from m. I have since called them and argued the matter showing them the tracking number, they guys address and th fact he got the product. The sad thing is, the same persons name that the card belonged to email me BEFORE the auction. I looked on ebay and this same person scammed others in the same few days he did it to me. Inddistwill is the usename.

Geez.. I was about to bid something off him last week... This guy is from Memphis, TN. USA.  if I remember correctly... darn, what a shame, he used to sell good stuff...  He even answered something I asked:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Battery is fine with no leakage and buster is socketed.

Thanks,
Robert

Hello, I'm interested in the machine. Just wondering if it has the
original clock battery and if tt ever leak? Sometimes these motherboards
get damaged with clock batterie's leakage.

Another question: Does it have the Buster chip soldered or is it put on a
socket?

Beware of ROBERT Waters!

Cheers

Well, as you may have noticed, english is not my native language... at least I took the time to try to learn it, while others (mostly english speaking people) do not even bother on learning any other language...

@Thomas:

Well, that's why the feeback mechanism is there, so people can warn others.  I myself only order from two kinds of people: those I know I can trust (eg our redrum), or those who have been active for at least a year and haven't had any negatives in the last six or so months.  I'd rather take the chance that he is a crook and not buy the thing than having neither the money nor the thing.

I sympathize completely about this guy. I won 2 auctions of his last month. The last contact I have of Mr. Waters (aka NightOwl computers Memphis TN) was that he recieved payment and that it would be shipped out on 11/7. Its now 20 days later and still no delivery. Im bummed..gave him the benefit of the doubt - wrote him an email last week...still nothing. Now I see this message thread...ARGH.

I was extremely surprised to find this out about R_waters. I had bought a couple of Amiga mags (and they were in MINT condition). Took over 5 weeks to get a reply from him. He said that he had some personal probs (maybe I showuldn't have just put that in :-? ) and that he would ship out the mags in no time. (This after I had written a VERY stern letter). Sure enough they came, then I bought another 10 mags off him (as DS_Collectibles). No probs at all. Then someone else, within this forum, wrote to me telling me of his problems with R_Waters. And now this?!  Oh well, looks like business only with redrum :-) .

Not perfect but very, very good for people who do a little homework. I am a firm supporter of eBay:-)

I'm just being honest. You fall head over heels to provide a great service to those who buy off you. I'm just trying to reciprocate that in a small way here :-) .
