Why? Billsey has left?

Yeah... he wrote this long rant about Genesi and couldn't log in the next day, and jumped to the conclusion that only the most egocentric of people can - that people took such offence to his "poetic" rantings that his account was suspended. He went straight over to AW and got a hero's welcome from some of the more narrow-minded people there (don't think of that as an attack on AW, there are equally narrow-minded people here.)

Of course, it was just some technical glitch. Kees, the mods and several members tried to explain this but Billsey just stormed off in a huff.

And that was that. A bit lame really, but at least there's no more extreme right bible-bashing threads... uh, until now ;-)

Hoya!

@spavatch

Well, in a way you're right but use your eyes.
If there REALLY was a god full of compassion, love, good feelings, funky vibes and beans, would it let its creation (the world) in the state it is today??
I do not think so, really.
Moreover, back when all the three major hly books were written, there was a miracle a day and now... Nothing?
To me it doesn't make sense, but of course, 'god knows better' ;-P

As for Billsey, as you can tell, I don't really miss him.

Be funky

The trouble is God WONT stop ANYONE from making a choice , that is the gift of free will and every time some idiot runs down the street with an oozy we blame God? if so if some guy donate's a g5 amiga's to all of us (drool ;-) ) why is it we dont thank God for that?

Man makes his own choices we are accountable to ourselfs & each other :-o

it's amazing how many people think God doesnt exist based on the "...or my bunny wouldnt have died when I was six" argument :-P

P.S. I personally believe in somthing more than just what science, but do we all know what/who that is? :-?

I just looked at this example of mental illness:

and i'm even MORE happy that nut case is not here to bore us to death with this kind of crap.
while i most certainly don't believe in censorship in any form, if someone wants to leave of their own "free will", i say, "bye!"

i've never prayed for anything. instead, i have USED my amiga and created things on my amiga and in that way, have kept it alive.

I don't think I've ever prayed for anything, come to think of it.

Bit of a silly idea, really!

But to be honest, I used to pray for an A4000T over and over, years ago. :)

The Amiga have it's own prayer and it's called Guru. Every time he appears, he acts as Mediator between the Amiga and God, and it tells you - "I prayed for that application not to crash, but it crashed anyway". So who to blame for the crash - God, The Application, The coder of the Application, or the user who started that aplication? Most of the times the coder is to blame, but sometime the user may ruined it all at first place. And neither Guru, nor God, nor the OS are guilty.

The moral is "Better act, than pray", but "Better pray, than doing nothing".

I heard they removed Guru from AmigaOS 4. That's bad, because this way, the Amiga loses it's soul and it's prayer 8-D

I'm not religious so I don't pray for anything except for God to protect us from all his followers.

Years ago I was extremely obsessed about the Amiga and wouldn't touch any other computer platform except for some Linux stuff. To be honest, all that obsessing for one platform put me way behind in the computer world and limited my access to computer jobs. I came to realize that my obsessing on it was just an escape from myself and my life issues. I more or less dropped out of interacting with other Amiga users online while I sorted my life out and figured myself out.

These days I'm not focusing on any single computer platform. I'm going to be laid off in a week. While I'm off, I'm going to delve more into Linux and getting back into the Amiga while I work on an idea for a software package for the Amiga and possibly other systems in between my studying for a couple of MCP tests. The Amiga will always hold a special place for me. There is so much right about it.

I think one passes some part of our lives findind a substitution for the meaning of life or something.....muahhh But not really. It's the addictive behaviour or something, can hapennd to anyone.
Maybe most amigans are like that?!  Hope not... 8-)
Ok, just forget it...
NOOO I've never prayed for the Amiga, it's only a computer made by man....

[EDIT] But I have to admit I have been adicted to the F****** thing :-x

The problem with the "Free Will" argument is that it means we have an impotent God... which is far worse than no god at all... :-o
