It's actually threads like this that help suck the mojo out of this forum.

I frequent all those other forums too.  It's all good.  Just be happy and thankful that there are still multiple places that you can go and communicate with other amiga users.

Obviously you haven't seen what I'm talking about.  Didn't I already say that was a possibility?  So your response is to say I'm whining and full of something.  Your Mother it seems raised a very polite person.  Did I attack you or Red?  I don't recall that.  I was polite and curtious.  Just like I would be if we were face to face.  It's funny how brave people become online isn't it?

Not a matter of bravery, and your point is well taken...
I rescind the entire thing and apologize..

I was simply asking for examples so we could address them as a group. I figured with examples that we could all look at maybe a consensus one way or the other could be met..

Seriously, is anybody willing to step up and provide some examples of why they think the moderation here is so bad?

I'm not joking, I've been here for a long time and I have absolutely no idea why people are taking this view.

The moderation here couldn't be better, in my opinion.  The rules are simple and posted for everyone to see, and occasionally a post breaking those simple rules is censored, while probably alot of them go under the radar and are left to die by themselves.  I think people are just bored and looking for something to complain about.

AmiBay, now that's a bunch of fascists.

Well my 2 cents.... I like both a.org and EAB... Each has its' own niche ....

As for the moderation, I really don't have any issues. I mean the rules are pretty much common sense.  I have run into a few users who have acted like 'wanna-be moderators', even when the actual mods. don't have any issues with a given post.... But, oh well, it happens... I just ignore people like that....

As was mentioned, there are some forums with Very strict moderation. I'm an avid model railroder, so I joined a WorldRailFan forum . It's very safe and family-friendy....You have to use your real name to register + post, explain to the one moderator Why you want to join....all posts are monitored... Everybody's polite, all posts are rated 'G', and it's a Total Bore, not to mention irrepressibly drab and awful.

So, Amiga.org may not be perfect, but it could be a lot worse.......

This site is still the best Amiga site on the planet!
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

This place is quite heavy lately, but I don't think it's anything to do with the moderation. It's so rare to see posts being moderated here, and when they are I think it's for legitimate reasons (blatant breaches of posting guidelines or filthy language). There's a horrible atmosphere on this site at the moment, which is mainly being caused by a few members continually diverting innocuous discussions to name-calling matches.

I think you are right moto. I'm sure that the majority of members don't get involved in the verbal punch-ups and are still just here to learn about the Amiga and offer help if they can. I just hope that the great helpers, like yourself and the hard drive expert Thomas, don't get peeed off by it all and leave :(

I must admit, I have been around this site since about 2000, I know says 2002 , but we lost our accounts twice in some nasty hacking on the site.

And if anything, I have noticed over the last few years that the moderation has got a lot more lax.

I have also noticed as moto has that there does seem to be an underlying current of distrust, and somtimes even hatred on this site recently.  I undestand where some of this has come from, but where is the love.
