A1200 refurbished or new old stock

I noticed Amigakit had some refurbed Amiga 1200's available a couple of weeks ago but the 'buy now' button has since dissapeared :angry: I assume because there is no more stock. I've emailed Amigakit twice over the last couple of weeks but have yet to recieve a reply.

Can anyone from Amigakit advise if any new refurbed stock will be available soon?

I live in Australia and good A1200's dont appear on ebay all too often.

It's really quite amazing that there is even any stock left... I wonder how much still exists?

I was told by Matthew at the AmiWest 2010 Show, that I was purchasing the last new NTSC A1200 that he had for sale.  He said he has one more, but was keeping it for himself (or was it for testing of third party hardware?).  I don't know how many new PAL A1200's he still has, but I think he has lots that he can sell as refurbished.

Well the other thing to consider when buying from Amigakit is that the NOS comes with KS 3.1 & all original 3.1 WB Disks and the Refurbished has KS 3.0 and WB will cost you extra anyway. IMO it would be well worth the extra few $$ futher down the track if you want to upgrade

I bought a refurb from Amigakit about a month ago and have been happy with it so far.  It is nice being able to add options to it as part of the bundle (I got the 3.1 OS and ROM instead of the 3.0 and added a hard drive and wireless NIC).  The NOS doesn't give you all that flexibility but it is new which is very cool.  
 
Looks like the NOS is out of stock, no buy button now.

Plus I think there is an issue with AT A1200s` floppy drives. They were from a PeeCee, and had problems with some games with custom bootblocks.

If you undo the hack they did to the motherboard then you can use a CBM floppy drive quite easily. The AT drives can be hacked to CBM specs as well, but it's more work & can be a bit fiddly. I did mine over a decade ago after I got one cheap from Tandy in the UK when they closed down.

I dont mind if its NOS or a refurbed A1200, to be honest I'd probably prefer a refurbed Commodore machine. If anyone from Amigakit can advise if they have any available that would be great

Mmmm... New Amiga in original cellophane!!! Been a long long time since I've seen one of those!
