Loggin on Amiga.org problems!
« on: November 08, 2003, 04:48:16 AM »
Hi,

I have a PeeCee and Amiga on broadband and I noticed something.
I cannot login here on my PC! But on my Amiga it works.
Is this on purpose? ;)

HAHA No silly  I log in on a PC often.

Suggestions:
1) Make sure cap locks is off
2) Make sure cookies is enabled
3) Make sure computer is on
4) Make sure you are in front of computer

cough...cough..  :-D
3 and 4 are a joke ;-)
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Well I checked and IE 6 looks fine.  I believe Cookies
are enabled.  Where do I check for sure?  This is weird.
I even tried WinUAE on it and I cannot login!!!

Sometimes it just says that my login is incorrect, when I have my user name and password saved

heh heh, cookie monster rules...

Why are viruses so evil nowadays, it used to be like the cookie virus. The cookie monster shows up on the screen and says GIMME A COOKIE, if you type in cookie, he goes away permanantly, if you don't, then it formats your harddrive  :-D

Despite some people thinking it's something to do with cookies or some such, it isn't, it's actually your firewall blocking some images etc from amiga.org, go into the settings and make a rule that lets everything from amiga.org through, then you cn log in.

Wish some people would take their heads out their rear ends and actually listen after you tell them it's nothing to do with cookies for the third time...

It's all very well you being insulting, but when were the first and second times that you told people it was nothing to do with cookies and people didn't listen?
Seeing as you've only made three posts, have all three been on the subject of cookies?

edit: besides, I merely suggested it as a solution. I didn't say it was defintely going to help...

edit: removed some less than civilised words. Sorry Kees.

Yup, I have Norton firewall that doesn't want to be configured for logging in here, so its always a quick firewall off/ log in/ firewall on job. Maybe I should stick to doughnuts ?  ;-)

Try a different web browser?  I know you said you tried WinUAE on it, but that does include the full facts :-)

Also, try going the 'forgotten password' route, it might un-screw something.

1. If using Norton Firewall, check Privacy Control and make sure that the Confidential setting is set to Medium and not high and Cookies are NOT blocked.

2. In IE, in Internet options, Privacy make sure settings is set to a Medium setting.
