This is the adapter a person needs to use a regular 3.5" IDE drive in a 1200 (and I thought in an A600 - I wasn't aware, or I just plain forget, of a regular 40pin IDE interface inside an A600). This particular type was custom made for Computer Answers back in the early 90's by a cabling company who still includes them in their product list (still makes them). They're nicer than the other ones people sell on eBay, they're shielded and wont short out on anything inside your Amiga. They are also physically shorter than the other ones that are out there and hence they fit nicely in your A1200 or 600 regardless of what sort of IDE cable connectors you have.

I see the cheaper unshielded version of these selling on eBay for $12-$15 all the time but I got a deal on a wack of them, if anyone needs one or two or ten, I can sell em for $7.50 each and something like $2.00 or less to ship to most places (they fit in an envelope and go as Air Lettermail). Not really trying to sell these here, just mentioning them as an option and trying to be informative; if you can find these elsewhere for less, scoop em up they're worth it.

NOTE: You are better off (and smarter) to use a splitter from your floppy drive's power connector on the motherboard. You need two floppy connectors and one larger 4 pin connector. You get much better (cleaner) power from your floppy power connector than you do from your 44pin ide interface. You can either make these yourself or get one from quite a number of custom cable outfits. I really don't recommend using the power connector shown, although it seems to work fine and some people tell me I'm nuts for suggesting spending money on a different power cord. :-D
