@ Rodney

Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK, the WWW was invented by Tim Berners-Lee, a British physicist working at CERN.

It's 'cos you guys were originally criminals, just like us Americans.  :-D We've all had our share of embarassing moments.

For example, us Americans had things like New Kids on the Block, OJ Simpson and N'Sync. You Aussies had the nerve to give us Crocodile Dundee....

:roflmao:

[EDIT] And look at the Brits. They had the nerve to kill the Red Dwarf movie. I'll NEVER forgive you for that one, Mates.  :-D

Dont forget the crock hunter... Hrmmm we need some originality in our attack against you guys!

I happened upon this thread again, and I looked back fondly on how we conducted a conversation and it remained good-natured throughout, even though there was a bit of [friendly] stereotyping and international banter. Ahh, the good old days...

Maybe I'm not on irc at the right times just now, but there's not as much banter on there as there used to be.  Still fun though :-)

You should also keep in mind that sometimes the original inventors of things don't get due credit, because other people (brits) steal them and patent them first :-)

Is it not about time that amiga.org gets its own irc server? :)

No, you're not. I haven't seen you for ages :-(

I was wondering if we need to advertise the channel more? Seems many potential #amiga.orgers are blissfully unaware that there even is an IRC channel (it's only been around for 3 years.) Any suggestions?

Anyway, it's a great channel - come check it out. It's the source of much amusement at times. There has been a bit of a lull of late, but I put that down to it being summer - it's been way too nice to stay indoors (even I've been away from the channel a bit more than normal recently.) But autumn approaches and I predict things will soon improve.

I look forward to seeing you there. See Information and the optional Web Interface in the "Join Us for Live Chats!" section of the site menu to the left <---
