It's funny to see unofficial Ainc at works. Now that link to AmigaDE no longer work cause some semi-amateur webmaster has decided Genesi has no right to link to it

Ahh.. Typical, when you can't fight the result you go for cheap shots at the implementor.  You might as well give up by the way. I've been insulted by far better and more important.

Fact is, while I was one of 2 that came up with the idea,  the decision to effect it, came from the Amiga Executive crew which, for your information, makes it official.  See, it is on the Amiga, Inc. website.  And what did Bill say to you fine people?  If it is Official Amiga business or activity, it will be on the Amiga, Inc. website.

I don't understand who is "Official" w.r.t Amiga, Inc. if not the executives themselves but, please, continue wearing those blinders if it suits your purpose.  Who am I to lead a horse to water?  :-)

Someone at Amiga Inc. should maybe take a legal course and get informed about the "fair use" of trademarks.  Or at least drop an email to Ben Hermans so he can explain the matter to you. I am sure he is more than willing to help.

Amiga's claim that Genesi may not use any Amiga trademarks anywhere at anytime unless Amiga agrees, is simply wrong and just shows a complete lack of knowledge as far as trademark rights go.

Anyway, nice try. Better luck next time. Just make sure you will ask someone who actually knows something about trademark rights.

...like they sued H&P!   :roflmao:

(and they even had a valid case that time)

Note to the idiot at Amiga Inc that came up with this one: it's quite legal for anyone to link to your site, and use your trademarked name and logo as reference to the link.  They don't need your permission.

@BHoggett

That's how I remember aswell, thats why I'd be more than interested to see how it would be settled in court of law.

But I am quite sure Amiga Inc.'s army of lawyers have given OK! & Thumbs Up for the short note and I am wrong once again.

Sorry mama, I won't do it again :cry:

So DE is being ported to MOS then? It seems AI aren't too happy about the idea.... more piracy and trademark infringement from the other camp ?

It's a pity AI don't have the resources to sue them, hell they don't even have office furniture !

@Wayne

Wayne Hunt, Genesi USA? lol I was right all along then! btw can you tell us how youre going to port DE to MOS without the permission (and indeed code) of AI?

Regards

@Skyraker

Wow. You seem to know lots of things. Care to elaborate about what piracy-issues you're referring to, and while there give me an update of the trademark infringement aswell. Thanks.

As for your lolling, firstly, mr.Hunt joining Genesi is ancient news, and secondly, he is not porting a ####.

It's kinda funny that Amiga Inc. can take the money from the userbase, but is openly hostile towards licensing money. Maybe it's because when you license something youâ€șare expected to actually have something to license at some point too.
