Yes, this is how I communicate when...

Hi AmiDelf et al...

"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!"

That is a quote from Hamlet.  Hamlet was lamenting over the wretched state of Denmark (and then incidentally compares the two kings, his father and his uncle Claudius as "Hyperion to a Satyr."  I probably would not have used Hyperion as an example of the goodness of one.  For me, the only thing rotten in Denmark is Trezzer as evidenced by his hypocritical and personal attacks which the letter above was written in response to (but, that is another story and was not the subject of this thread)...;-)

Later, Hamlet says...

Fie on't! ah fie! 'tis an unweeded garden, that grows to seed; things rank and gross in nature possess it merely. That it should come to this!

This of course can be compared to the "community" in the months and years before.  :-o    This place was a mess.

Raquel and I are great advocates of what we call gardening. If you plant a garden and you ignore it, it's taken over by weeds. But if you keep at it, month after month, then it grows as it should and you can be proud of your work.  We like the way the garden is shaping up!  Things are looking good.   It was not so easy in the beginning when we came back to the Community.  Alot of weeding had to be done and it was dirty work...;-)  We have absolutely no interest in "weeds."  Let them "grow" in another garden.

Spring is here...so to speak! We are trying  to do our best to be good gardeners!

So, that is my answer about "unorthodox communication."  You see, I do not have Hamlet's problem!

Bill  :-P

I shall refrain from answering this abuse of classical literature. People, please read what is before you and make up your own mind about Bill Buck.

To use another classical phrase: "Would you buy a used car from this man?"

Maybe one day the anti Bucks campaign will end but the more it continues the more sad and obsessed you people sound.

So you think what he's done is perfectly reasonable?
Sheesh. You never do cease to amaze me Paul.

Of course not, i would prefer it if all heads of companies would just STFU and stop talking instead of pissing people off but this anti Bucks campaign is just way OTT and i find it disgusting how members of the Amiga community could attack an individual so badly.

As far as I can see I was the only *person* being attacked here. In my previous postings I did not attack a person directly. I "attacked" an operating system by saying it was not ready for prime time - which was a genuine concern of mine. I also said that MorphOS should make it on its own merits instead of riding on the shoulders of others. I don't see how that is an attack on Mr. Buck.

I'm with Trezzer here, this dissection of Bill's personality is very off-topic and bordering on trolling. So come on, let's dissect what was said in the interview that this topic is about, rather than dig up e-mail and message board posting that does not enforce or detract from the interview given.
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.

Hi everyone,

I guess I have to blame myself for the direction this news topic has gone. I was the one asking for background why Bill Buck did write such a piece. I remember the thread wich Trezzer provided. As I reread it Trezzer you walked a fine line of decency there.
Ofcourse you should say what you believe and feel, but there are more ways to put them into words, don't you agree with me?

Anyway everybody:

Sorry

Let us look to the future! I still see a world where we've got OS4 and MorphOS "living" together!
I really think this is good, think about it:

Companies have ideals, goals, believes etc.
That is why they head in a particular direction in which they find potential clients.

Take now two companies:
The've got their own believes, directions, etc.
So they will go their own way with picking up clients on the way.
Combined they will "cover" a lot of people who will use an Amiga or an Amiga-like system.
This isn't bad in my opinion.

The Amiga community will come out the dark, into the light in this way (uuh, publicity is the subject here :-))
