Frodon is one of the most amiable members of this site. Amazing even his posts get under people's skin, but then some skins here are pretty darn thin...

Amiga Inc really needs to sort out their PR skills.

Yeah, we're worn really thin by your (Edit: strobe, that is) constant tirading. Me, I'm too smart to be fooled by any of you. I wanted an AmigaOne for Linux and AmigaOS (yes, I enjoy working with PPC computers, and have more than enough boxes to back that statement up :-) ), and I got one. Last May. Oh, and btw: Whoever would by a Mac and have all that trouble with Linux not supporting this or that when they could just by an AmigaOne and run OSX.2 off of MOL in a dual-boot with AmigaOS4 (whenever it is released, I'm having too much fun with Linux to be worried at the moment, really). And before you comment on the lack of feasibility of any of that, it's already been done... And my 700MHz AmigaOne currently crunches OGR-25 5% slower (9.4 vs 9.0 Mnodes/s) than the 2.2GHz at work. RC5-72 about 23% slower (3.0 vs 2.3Mkeys/s)

1) If you want good linux support, buy a PC instead. LinuxPPC is the least supported port and supports the least number of peripherals and cards. I don't know what makes you think the A1/Teron is more supported than a PowerMac, Linux/PPC has been running on PowerMacs far longer and Apple's hardware is better quality.

2) 10.2 doesn't run all that well in MOL. Actually it runs like crap. It also can't 'do' as many things in MOL than if it were running on its own. Kinda hard to be a "digital hub" if you stick it in a virtual machine.

3) Nobody is drooling over your 700mhz A1. I'm typing this on a 1Ghz PowerBook.

@olegil:

Why P4 sucks in RC5.

But you did know this already, right?

from http://os.amiga.com/
"AmigaOS4.0 is coming. Beta-testing has been going on since last September, the Club Amiga Magazine is previewing many of the new features and AmigaOne integration is proceeding well."

following the link to Club Amiga Magazine (http://os.amiga.com/cam/)u get:
You must login to use this feature. You must also be a member of Club Amiga.
Click here to join Club Amiga.

Ok thinking wtf i have to submit my email adress to get the info i click the join Club Amiga link ...

then i get too:

When you join "Club Amiga" for USD 50.00, (EUR 50.00, or GBP 32.50) you will receive a shirt signifying your membership and, throughout the next 12 months, you will be the first to learn of new products and receive a special monthly Club Amiga Magazine containing articles about the Amiga.

WTF 50$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to learn about a feature in the os ????

If i could make up feature list and draw some screenshots and then sell em for 50$ to ppl i would be rich !

(wonder if they charge extra for shipping the shirt overseas ....)

Oh dear... What a shame... Gee, I guess we'll have to do something about this won't we... Er.... .... .....

Oh.. Right... All we can do is wait..?

I suppose I'll just wait a bit longer then.
Complaining won't make them change their mind & release OS4 in whatever state its in now will it?

Well, it looks like even AROS will be ready before OS4. :-)
Then the war will be over and AROS will be running on x86, m68k Amigas, AmigaOne  and Pegasos.
If someome had seen this a long time ago( in the Gateway era) then we would have ONE useful os now, not  one outdated(3.9) and 3 alfas/betas.
Apple did it right the first time, bring back the Newton!

@nDude

Club Amiga gets advanced previews.  This is one of the magazine features for which they paid. The screenshots displayed in the magazine will be released to the general public & the rest of the Amiga community sometime later.

You don't have to join the club if you don't want to benefit from the features of the club.

The feature list of AmigaOS4 and screenshots are available, as usual, at The AmigaOS4 Features Page
