I was under the impresion that they were aware that the CeBIT was just
the launch, not the release of OS4?

Have to admit I am losing confidence in AmigaINC. As JoK pointed out
they should have known weeks ago that they weren't going to be able to
go, why did it take them so long to d an announcment. :-(

Its not just CeBit thats has been missed.
Why do we let Amiga / Eyetech get away with it.
Missing deadlines etc.

Oh is it because we don't like to rock the boat.

Complain. Report them to Trading Standards. Watchdog. Vote with your wallet.

Where are all the A1 XE's people have pre ordered.

Enough Have been built + CPUs.... Alan

If you feel you want to complain fill out your complaint here

If you ordered double glazing and they didn't turn up to install them on the day they should have and promised, you would complain. Even though they haven taken no money they are misleading the public.

Instead we are looking at other shows and opportunities in the near future to provide a suitable platform for the launch of the new Amiga.

Cebit 2004?

Serious, this does not come as a surprise. We will wait some more. We will be good little boys and girls.

I've waited for years and years. And waiting some more won't hurt me. Especially now when I don't have any money to actually buy the products if they were released right away.

Obviously the people at Amiga, Eyetech and Hyperion are very busy getting everything done at the moment, and it may indeed not have been clear until very recently whether or not they can present something at CeBIT with a reasonable amount of work and a result which would justify the effort.

Generally, given their companies' sizes it seems only logical to me that their top priority is the product, not keeping the public informed about their progress and business decisions. Nevertheless, they actually do keep us informed, as far as it is feasible.

Keep up the good work everybody involved, I hope the wait will be over soon.

Greetings,
  dirigent

Well......it's better they wait until OS4 is completely ready. After all, when they stand there showing the world some new Amiga stuff, they'll better be there with a product they can trust, and which is ready for shipping.

It would be stupid to miss out, on all the eventual copies sold on such a huge show. Many people would without a doubt buy AmigaOS4 instantly. Amiga Inc. would miss out on all these potential impulsive customers.

I find it a wise move to wait for another show, and then be much more prepared.

Remember that this is one of "the big" news on the computer scene. Everybody will possibly discuss whether OS4 is up to our days time.  It would be extremely stupid to face the global computermagazines, websites, etc. on such a show with a "half product".

Belive me....the wolves will be mercyless when confronted with a company who's supposed to be dead, and suddenly claims they are alive, and kicking with a new product.

This shows that Amiga Inc. understands this, and shows the responsability towards the Amiga it deserves!  :-)

I really agree with Dirigent...These companies really understand the Amiga. That's why they are working so hard to make the best out of they work...No doubt.
Helgis - AMIGA DEFINITELY makes it all possible!!!

Well Each time the prospone the release of OS4.0
MOS gets bigger and bigger, I don't think MOS will ever get to the point where a release of AOS4.0 is pointless, but each day I am thinking more and more about MOS.
Or an other non wintel solution

While appreciating any clear news from Amiga Inc, I fear this is another dip in credibility for a company that appears to be unappreciated anyway.

Like many others here I suspect, to me this is another announcement in the long line of "just wait a bit, it will be along soon" vein. I'll wait because my new Amiga will be installed alongside my existing PC. Whether it actually ever turns up is not a matter of life and death to me. If it does, that will be nice, if it doesn't it will be a shame but I'll carry on using my PC.

PS. I won't be buying a Pegasos, not because although it may well do all as advertised,  I can see no pressing reason to start out again with a new platform.

I don´t understand these sentences of yours. :-?
Amiga Inc. just announced they will not participate the CeBit, so now for sure they will not sell copies to impulsive customers?!
Don´t forget OS4 will run on the A1 and on classic Amiga's (with PPC upgrade ofcourse :-)), so these impulsive customers would own an Amiga already or they had to buy OS4 AND an A1 on the CeBit.

That's why it runs Amiga 3.x software.
