I havnt read "this" but i guess your refering to the OpenBeOS FAQ?

In that case, yer your right. This could be a terrific OS when its finished. Parts that are finished and have the exact same functinoality of the old BeOS say they're running even faster then Be Incs peices.

I dont think it would be too hard to get this project ported to the A1. Not hard at all. It would be far more worth while porting it to that, then the A3000!!!

AmigaOne port sounds more realistic. But one of the proggers has a A3000 lying around.

Actually IIRC I this info has been around for a couple years. Kind of silly to port it to an 030 Amiga IMO.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Compared to what ? *eg*
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

pegasos, I assume he means. I just don't see the point in a port.

I have no idea. I did not even know of this stuff untill some days ago. Looks cool though. But I prefer Aros at this moment as something to check out.

Agreed, if it ever becomes useable, I'll run it on a x86.

Amiga 3000 aint that bad. Either is 68030 cpu. So
its nice to see people porting OpenBeOS for
Amiga 3000 indeed.

I like OS's wich runs old hardware. And still they
are fast and fully useable. Like AmigaOS.

I hope to see the OpenBeOS port soon!!! for
Amiga 3000/4000....

AmiDelf

A3000 you say ?

should also be portable onto a beefed up A1200 then.
you'd only need to do new Gfx drivers for AGA - and only then to get the extra modes IIRC.
(what -are- the fundamental differences between the two ? aside from the bleedin' obvious of course...)

but yes, in ref to earlier comments here (howdy Kronos n Coder !) one of the PPC machines would be more worthwhile (SharkPPC ? :-p )
