TinyGL, an OpenGL subset for AmigaDE released
« on: July 05, 2002, 02:25:34 AM »
For anyone interested in using OpenGL to do some 3D coding on the AmigaDE, TinyGL provides a good subset of the GL, including part of the GLUT api for easier coding. The library can be downloaded from amigadev.net:
http://www.amigadev.net/index.php?dlfilename=dev/tlib/tinygl.zip

I wonder why I was not informed on this by Amiga. I am under NDA and should get this too. Maybe I missed a mail.

Hey coder,

I'm pretty sure the guy posted that on the AMIGADEV list, or was it the AMIOPEN list, hmm.. It's definitely there somewhere  :-D

hmmm amigadev.net is being really slow to respond to me so I havn't looked yet.  But I would like to know, is this related to Hyperion's gl/warp/messa work or has someone else beat them to it?

Hi,
I'm the one who did the port to AmigaDE.
TinyGL is not related to Hyperion or Ami3D, and it's also not officially endorsed by Amiga or anything.
It's an "independent" free, open source GL subset library, that I ported to AmigaDE.

I did post to the SDA list and also to the AMIOPEN list, but it seems the mail didn't show up on the AMIOPEN list, so I decided to post the news here.

If someone is interested, you can find the AmigaDE SDK both
versions for Linux and Win at a very low price here:
http://www.aps.fr
then the "logiciels" link (software in french)
Only for European users.

If you bought the Windows version of the SDK you also will be able to download the Linux version of it. The other way around too offcourse. It's a good way to support Amiga by buying the SDK.
